Did you know that CM Almy refurbishes vestments in its Pittsfield, Maine shop?
A client recently sent us a Fiddleback chasuble that needed some help getting back to its glory days. We did the following:
-Removed the front & back orphreys and placed on a new purple face material that client provided.

-Added two layers of duck interlining between the face & lining to prevent the heavy orphreys from curling as the Chasuble is worn. Ultimately giving it a nice crisp look.

-Removed the purple lining and replaced with our antique gold lining.

-Replaced the galloon which was provided by the client.

-Digitized & Embroidered IHS & Vesica on the center of the front orphrey to fill the gap between the two grapes & vines.

As a working supervisor, you'll lead the Metalware team in producing high-quality products while ensuring safety, accuracy, and on-time delivery. Your skills with manufacturing equipment and tools, attention to detail, and leadership will drive process improvements and team success.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day metalware production operations
- Ensure accuracy in product specs, drawings, and quality standards
- Collaborate with production scheduling to meet deadlines
- Coach and develop your team for peak performance
- Participate in daily production tasks as needed

👷‍♂️ What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (metalwork or machine shop a plus)
- Strong leadership skills with hands-on experience
- Ability to manage inventory and maintain a safe workspace
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)

Founded in 1892, CM Almy is a family owned company that manufactures vestments, apparel and decorative accessories for the Church and clergy in Pittsfield, Maine. When the Coronavirus hit, we pivoted quickly to face masks and other PPE. We have teamed up with our friends at Partners for World Health to get face masks to the most vulnerable. When you select the Buy One -- Donate One option, we will send a mask to their organization in your name.
