Beyond Stillness: Exploring the Depth of Savasana

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Have you ever secretly wished to spend the duration of your practice in Savasana? Does the normal 5-10 minutes ever truly feel like enough?
B.K.S. Iyengar once wrote, "The stresses of modern civilization are a strain on the nerves for which Savasana is the best antidote."
In this one-hour workshop, we will explore this singular pose to examine the many ways deep rest can offer us a better understanding of our mind/body's internal landscape. Find ways to adapt Savasana for your ever-changing needs with the use of props, experience different breathing and mindfulness techniques, and dive deeper into the paradox of why this pose is the easiest to do, yet most challenging asana to sustain.

ABOUT JESSICA
Jessica loves using the energy of breath as a guide in each yoga class, finding steadiness and strength from child's pose to savasana. With attention to alignment and always weaving in ways to be more mindful and present, Jessica meets each student where they are at. When she's not doing yoga or meditating, you may find her in a creative writing class, traveling with her husband and three children, or in her happiest place — underneath her Cherry tree in her hammock.
