My favorite tea!

Winter Tulsi Rose Tea
A simple farm tea

This is a tea for winter days when things feel close to the surface. Gentle, warming, and quietly supportive.

Ingredients
For one cup or small pot
• Tulsi (holy basil): adaptogen herb that supports balance in the nervous system
• Rose petals: offers gentle emotional comfort and softens sharp edges without over
• One dried orange slice: can lift the spirit and soften heaviness
• Honey, to taste: adds sweetness comfort

How to Make
1. Add a small handful of tulsi and a pinch of rose to a mug or teapot.
2. Pour hot water over the herbs, or place them in a tea ball.
3. Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
4. Strain, or remove the tea ball.
5. Sweeten lightly with honey while the tea is hot.
6. Float a dried or fresh orange slice on top just before drinking.

Drink slowly. Let it warm you.

When This Tea Is For
• Quiet winter mornings
• Evenings when the day lingers
• Moments of reflection or grief
• When you want something gentle and steady

Winter can quietly dry even balanced skin. This nourishing face oil is designed for normal skin and can be made at home using simple, supportive plant oils. It helps maintain moisture, support the skin barrier, and keep skin feeling soft and comfortable through the season.

Apply to clean, lightly damp skin after cleansing and toning.

Sensitive skin can omit essential oils entirely. The carrier oils alone are effective and supportive.

Yes, you can use face oil on oily skin.

The key is to cleanse and tone first, then apply a small amount of oil to lightly damp skin. When used correctly, facial oils can actually help regulate oil production rather than increase it.

As we fully embrace the winter dryness and weather, I’ll be sharing at-home facial oil recipes you can make for yourself.

The following Age-Optimizing Face Oil recipe is designed to support skin that feels dry, depleted, or less resilient during the colder months. It focuses on replenishing lost lipids, supporting the skin barrier, and restoring softness and glow, without heaviness or irritation.

This blend is suitable for:
• Mature or hormonally changing skin
• Dry or winter-stressed skin
• Skin that feels tight, dull, or less elastic
• Anyone wanting a simple, nourishing oil for daily use

As always, keep things minimal, listen to your skin, and adjust as needed.

We have a loved one moving towards end of life. Appointments at the spa are being adjusted and moved as we navigate the edge of deep grief. For now, I ask for patience and no questions.

Prayers and kind thoughts are welcome. Thank you for holding us with care.

Give Yourself Permission to Rest

In January we’re told to have a multitude of resolutions. Work out, diet, do do do…

What if we make the resolution to spend this month resting as nature intended, attending to our self care, sitting quietly with tea, receiving a massage, just breathing in life? What kind of restart and reset would that be for you?
