Life can be challenging at times. I always say you can't move forward looking in the rear view mirror. Always choose the future. Dream of what can be vs. what was. Our past has passed but we still tend to dwell on it. Our past doesn't have to define us unless we let it.
I use to be stuck in the past until I started believing in myself. I know my past had its place and made me who I am today. Confident and living my best life.
So remember diamonds are made from pressure. Be the diamond you are.

What a personal message to receive!
I know when we subscribe to apps, and I subscribe to several motivational apps, the AI begins to personalize messages.
But this one hit close to home because I did start over several times in my lifetime and each time for the better.
I don't think we give ourselves enough credit because we've all started over several times and will continue to do so.
You can't grow if you don't take chances, scary as they may be.
This is a primary concept of my health coaching. What happens in our life also dictates our nutrition - good or not so good.
I'm using my years of experience to help other women, especially those over 40, to believe in themselves.
We talk a lot about selfcare but we don't always take advantage of caring for ourselves on a constant basis.
We're like plants, if we don't water ourselves regularly, we'll die, metaphorically speaking.
Exercise can be helpful for a boost but is not the end all be all.
I often hear patients say a good workout relieves excess stress. That’s because exercise reduces cortisol – the stress hormone.
Too much cortisol and you become insulin resistant and store belly fat. Too much cortisol also makes you crave sugar and carbs and seek comfort food.
Let’s consider some of the other reasons why exercise is important:
BETTER INSULIN SENSITIVITY: Exercise makes your cells and muscles more sensitive to insulin so you don’t need as much. Less insulin means less belly fat.
LESS STRESS: I often hear patients say a good workout relieves excess stress. That’s because exercise reduces cortisol – the stress hormone. Too much cortisol and you become insulin resistant and store belly fat. Too much cortisol also makes you crave sugar and carbs and seek comfort food.
BETTER BRAIN HEALTH: Your brain on exercise performs so much better. Exercise improves memory, learning, and concentration. Vigorous exercise is a better antidepressant than Prozac. Exercise creates brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDMF), which is basically miracle grow for your brain. When you exercise, your brain becomes more elastic. Exercise also helps to improve your mood, boost your energy, and reduce overall stress in your body and mind.
REDUCED RISK FOR CHRONIC DISEASE: Exercise does this through several mechanisms. It protects your heart and reduces your risk of heart attack and stroke. It reduces inflammation (the cause of almost every disease of aging). And it balances hormones, therefore reducing breast and other common cancers.
ENHANCED DETOXIFICATION: Besides stimulating the colon, intense exercise allows your body to release toxins through your skin. It boosts detoxification of environmental chemicals. Vigorous exercise will help you work up a sweat, but gentle exercise keeps your circulation going and flushes out all the toxic fluids that build up in your lymphatic system. If your daily exercise routine doesn’t cause you to sweat profusely, take a steam or infrared sauna, if possible.
IMPROVED SEXUAL FUNCTION: Increased circulation and more energy are two of many reasons that consistent exercise can spark up your s*x life.

As an integrative nutrition health coach I help my clients work through the obstacles of really enjoying a vacation without checking emails, without being available to the boss or clients, etc. That's not what a vacation is about.

Great lessons to remember
Happy Friday - A quote to savor
Genuine sort of joyfulness is helping others. You get more satisfaction building a happier society, peaceful society.
Firstly, a peaceful family. In order to create a peaceful family, the individual should create inner peace, joyfulness, then share with family members.
Then through that way, one family, ten family, 100 family. That way change will bring happier society.
Mock nachos. Got a 2 thumbs up all around 👍👍Meatless meal.
Slice sweet potatoes on the diagonal somewhat thick
Chop cauliflower into chunks
Red or white onion
Layer in a pan, season, and add some olive oil. Roast at 450° for around 30 minutes
Add black beans or any beans. I had some leftover from my 3 bean chili
I also added a diced jalapeno
Put back in the oven another 30 minutes
Add cheese, cilantro, salsa or pico de gallo like I did. Put back in the oven another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
