Happy Yalda! 🍉 Yalda Mobarak! Let’s celebrate the Longest Night of the Year on December 21, 2020 to welcome the Winter Solstice! ☃️🍉🍎

This is the time for pomegranates, watermelon and red wine to shine! Get those antioxidants in while celebrating this holiday! 🍷🍉

Yalda is a winter solstice celebration; it is the last night of autumn and the longest night of the year. Yalda means birth and it refers to the birth of Mitra; the mythological goddess of light. 🌟

The longest and darkest night of the year is a time when friends and family gather together to eat, drink and read poetry (especially Hafez) until well after midnight. Fruits and nuts are eaten and pomegranates and watermelons are particularly significant.

Today for the first time I visited and I was blown away.

Not only did I realize how little I knew about the local produce and artisanal talent literally in my own backyard; I was inspired by the vendors who take time to share their stories in their products.

I visited helped me better understand my fur babies and they have a wide variety of organic pet food 🐶🐶❤️

We visited and their gorgeous lavender products definitely gave me holiday gift ideas 😉☃️🎄

I was the most excited to see and I made the decision to begin the transition from shopping at big box stores to local produce vendors. The energy I felt while experiencing the market truly inspired me to be more conscious of my personal impact on others.

Plus the delicious food smells, pastries, and coffee made it hard for me to resist trying everything in sight! 🧋☕️🍰🧁

I would love for you guys to help me stay accountable and give me some tips to local produce, meat, etc companies!
