Another Christmas Gone By
I pray your holidays were full of love and comfort.
The holidays can be a stressful time for many. Some of us have lost loved ones and we remember them this time of year. This was certainly the case for us. As the holidays approached, we were reminded of celebrations of Christmases past. There was the stress of trying to live up to those expectations for merriment and creating new memories that will dazzle the senses with traditional smells, sparkling lights, and magic. It was like a wonderful dinner that took a month to make and about 5 minutes to devour. For me, it was a rollercoaster ride between feeling deeply misty nostalgia of missing my family and the profound gratitude for one more year with all of my children, home together.

A personal note.

I went into New Year's Eve, with an intention of setting my goals for 2021. It was difficult, I felt the despair and angst of 2020, hoping 2021 would bring relief. It was so difficult, in fact, to imagine the future, at a time when the future seems so uncertain. It wasn't long before I was inspired to crumple up that piece of paper and begin again, with gratitude.
And so, I set pen to paper and released a flow of gratitude. It became evident that 2020 was another year of life, of experience and of blessing. The prevailing message strewn throughout the media is that 2020 was foul and to be forgotten. This is not so for me. In 2020, my family was blessed with a new birth, recovery from illness, daily contact with family over Facetime, a garage renovation, wildly successful investments, a first car, a first job, and the list goes on.
Somehow, being reminded of just how blessed we were in 2020, sparked hope and inspiration for 2021.
May you too, discover all the blessings in your life and hold them close to your heart. May you too, wipe the tears from your eyes and see the opportunity of today.

Proportionate amount of brain activity dedicated to each of the body parts. Since my livelihood resides in my hands, does this mean I am super smart, lol?

We, as Americans, feel three times more extreme stress than we did in the early 80's. I'm not surprised. We do a whole hellava lot more multitasking. I'm mean, shoot, I'm writing a Facebook post while doing my seminar on the subject of stress.

[09/30/20]   Recently, Schleip made a startling discovery: Fascia isn't just a bunch of rubbery cables, but actually sensory organs packed with nerve endings. In fact, the fascia is as rich in sensory input as your tongue and eyes are, Schleip found. The upshot: Fascia isn't just taking orders, it's also issuing them. It reacts to your environment and ultimately creates what Schleip calls "structural compensation." The mechanism works like this: Every move you make is a physical experiment. If the experiment works—say, you swish a jumper while cocking your head to the side—it becomes a habit. All those little habits become locked in as posture.

It's time to renew my massage license. I am learning new things and I'll share them with you.
