With the craziness of today's world you find solace in the most unlikely places and under the most unlikely situations. I found myself with a completely clogged, about to shutdown lymphatic system, with my past massage therapist out due to the covid situation. I have never been in as bad a shape as I was 2 weeks ago, hurting, no sleep, worried, and concerned about reaching out to someone new. Well, I guess you could say my prayers were answered on all fronts! I had my massage 4 days ago and I slept through the night, and have had zero pain all day. Amy has the touch for lymphatic drainage without a doubt. I cannot thank her enough for the relief I have experienced and the calm that my body has experienced in less than one week. If you are experiencing any lymphatic system issues I highly recommend Amy for part of your regimen. Thank you Amy!

What is Zero Balancing
Happy 2023!
I hope everyone had some quality time with the ones you love! I know we did, with lots of food, laughs and hugs!
I also received a home pedicure from my oldest, sweet daughter with some of her Christmas gifts!
Some of you know that I am also a massage instructor and have my own education company. This education company (www.emeraldbodyworkeducation.com) is another passion of mine like my massage practice! I am teaching more classes this year than last so there could be days that I need to be away from my massage practice so I am trying to make my schedule accommodate. Starting next week, my schedule will be altered just a little. The days I will be in my office are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and I will be able to see you later on Friday's.
My next goal for my massage practice is to become Certified in Zero Balancing. I signed up for two more advanced courses to help me receive the required education towards this path. I also have planned in early 2024 to take their written and practical exam to finally be certified in the amazing work!

If you know it or not, everyone has experienced a little Zero Balancing when you are on my table. It blends structure of the body with the energy of the body. I would love to have more opportunities to practice this in a whole session format. To receive the most benefits it is suggested to have at least 3 sessions. If anyone commits to this 3 session idea at the end I would love any and all feedback on how your whole body feels. This is the side of oncology massage I don't highlight. I got word from a very loving family member that one of my precious clients passed from complications of cancer. It is a hard way to start the day, and I do not post this to get sympathy for me. This is just one side of oncology massage that shows this work is not for everyone. A therapist has to be strong, empathetic, resilient, caring, understanding, open, humble and so much more. But a therapist has to be caring! I will miss my time with this client, and I pray their loved ones are ok!

Amy graduated from Sterling Health Center in 2001 and has been practicing massage in many different capacities ever since. Most recently, she has opened her own office in North Plano. This is where she has been able to fully express her passion for Manual Lymphatic Drainage/ Oncology Massage, caring for women's health to be and pass her education on to help the health of the patients.
Over the years, Amy has been trained in Reflexology, Prenatal/Postpartum/Labor Preparation Massage, Postpartum pelvic health, Infant/Toddler/ Adolescent Massage, Myofascial Release, Geriatric Massage, Aromatherapy, Shiatsu, Oncology Massage, Final Touch Massage, and received her Massage Therapy Instructor License. Out of everything she does, her true joy is helping others above all and she is currently teaching classes on these massage techniques at Sterling Health Center in Dallas.
Amy Scottino is a member of the Society for Oncology Massage, Oncology Massage Alliance, A Recognized American Pregnancy Association Massage Therapist, American Bodywork and Massage Professionals, and holds a license for Massage Therapy Instructor.
