What common syndrome are women three times more likely to develop then men? Compression of the medial nerve as it passed into the hand or carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). CTS can produce a variety of symptoms including pain in the hand and arm with numbness or tingling. Most CTS can be treated non-operatively, however when non-operative treatments fail to provide lasting relief Dr. Buch may recommend a carpal tunnel release.

Tennis legend Roger Federer announced he will have his fourth knee surgery since 2016 and third in the past 18 months. A recent study examined the post operative complication rate of 84,864 total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients who were discharged rapidly versus a tradtional length of hospital stay. This study found there was no difference in complication rates, and patients with rapid discharge had lower rates of MUA and infection post surgical. Early mobilization and getting patients out of the hospital is not only beneficial from a cost perspective but it can help improve outcomes.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common condition that causes pain, numbness, and tingling in the hand and arm. The condition occurs when one of the major nerves to the hand — the median nerve — is squeezed or compressed as it travels through the wrist.
