Stop Waiting to Feel Like It
Hey Wellness Fam,
Here’s a truth that might surprise you:
Your feelings aren't always on your side.
So many of us wait for motivation to magically show up before we take action—whether it’s a workout, meal prep, getting to bed early, or making time for self-care. But the truth is:
> Motivation usually shows up after we start doing the thing—not before
If you let your feelings drive the bus, you’ll often find yourself procrastinating, making excuses, or giving up before you even begin.
Why does this happen?
Feelings crave comfort. Your brain is wired to avoid discomfort—even when discomfort leads to growth.
You’re conditioned to seek quick wins. If a reward doesn’t come fast, your brain says “why bother?”
Fear of failure or not doing it perfectly can make inaction feel safer.
You’re overwhelmed. When the full picture seems like too much, your brain says let’s not even start.
Old habits die hard. Your mind is used to certain patterns—and breaking them means effort.
Here’s the shift:
Instead of asking, "Do I feel like doing this?"
Ask, "What would my future self thank me for?"
Then do it.
Just start. Even 5 minutes can lead to 30. A walk can turn into a workout. A healthy choice can lead to a great day.
This week, I challenge you to act first. Let the motivation catch up to you.
You don’t need to feel like it—you just need to begin.
You've got this 💪
