Thank you Terina Gardner for introducing this challenge to me.
The “Murph Challenge” is one of the most well-known military tribute workouts in the fitness world. It honors Michael P. Murphy, a U.S. Navy SEAL who was killed in action during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. Murphy was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for exposing himself to enemy fire in order to call for help for his team.
The workout itself was originally called “Body Armor,” which was one of Murphy’s favorite training routines. It consisted of:
1-mile run
100 pull-ups
200 push-ups
300 air squats
1-mile run
You need to train to complete this folks! But to be part of this challenge is an honor.
