Our Mission
We serve all children and their families. This meeting is open to the public.

We define “Family” as people who work together and take the responsibility for and care for one another by protecting, nurturing, supporting, and educating. The Mason County Anti-Drug Coalition is funded by a Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant of the WVDHHR Bureau of Behavioral Health. Prevention of drug use, including alcohol and drug use are centered around utilizing environmen

tal strategies, social marketing and educational programs to address underage drinking and prescription drug misuse and abuse. The coalition is made up of volunteers in the community that represent health, law, education, community leaders, faith based centers, youth, parents, mental health and public health. The Mason County Anti-Drug Coalition meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm at the Courthouse Annex Auditorium. Each meeting provides an educational component as well as planning for community events in the area of prevention.

The town hall meeting will be held in the little gym at Wahama HS.

Next Tuesday May 6th there will be a Town Hall Meeting being held at Wahama High School from 6-7pm. It will be hosted by the Mason County Family Support Center and the Mason County Prevention Coalition. There will be papers with different subjects such as prevention, healthcare, transportation, education, etc that we would like the community input on. There will be different organizations that will have tables with information on services that can be provided. May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This week May 1st-3rd is supporting Older Adults Mental Health.
Spend time with older adults. Just visiting and talking with them could make a difference in their lives. Be kind.

Today is National Drug Take Back Day!! I will be here in front of the Wellness Center in Point Pleasant from 10-12 if you need to drop of any prescription medication you need to get rid of.

We will be having the National Drug Take Back Day Saturday April 26th from 10am until 12pm in the parking lot in front the Wellness Center in Point Pleasant WV.

It was a pleasure to be one of 24 vendors to attend Hannan Jr/Sr High School's Info/Career Fair 2025 on April 1st. It ran from 2:30 -6:00 pm. We were able to talk to HHS Jrs and seniors, as well as some adults in the community regarding Drug Prevention.

I also want to say a huge thank you to Brad Towe and True Life Ministries for their food and hygiene donations. We used them to make food and hygiene bags to give the less fortunate in our community.
