PATTERN DESIGN
A quick and portable knit. Silver Pines is a sweet little headband featuring a simple, easy-to-memorize stitch pattern. Worked up in sport-weight yarn, this headband features a double-thick fabric that adds an extra layer of warmth. Choose wool or alpaca for the colder months or natural cotton or linen for the warmer months. The pattern is charted and includes separate written instructions. All repeats appear in bold text. The pattern is written for magic loop, but feel free to use a set of double-pointed needles. Pattern includes a video link for assembling the headband.

CONSTRUCTION
The headband is worked in the round, creating a double-thick, two-sided fabric. Cables are featured on the outside with stockinette stitch on the inside. Both ends are sewn together to create a decorative knot on the right side of the headband.

YARN
Approximately 230 yards/210 m of Sport or Light-DK yarn

✨CALL FOR TESTERS ✨

I’m wrapping up the final details on this NEW design. A DK weight, lightweight shawl/wrap. The perfect transitional piece to add to your upcoming spring wardrobe.

I’ll be putting up a test call for this beauty later this week. But Ive included a few details below, in the meantime. If you’d like to be tagged in the test call once it goes live in my Ravelry group, drop your Ravelry name below in the comments.

TEST DETAILS
• 6 week test (Deadline: 5/7)
• Requires approximately 1,150 yards/1,052 m of DK weight yarn (shown in Fine Feather)
• US 4/3.5mm needle
• Pattern difficulty is Experienced
• Pattern is charted and includes separate written instructions
• Pattern features simple lace, simple cables, bobbles and slipped stitches along the edges of the wrap
• Features a 16-row repeat
• Finished dimensions: 16.5”/42 cm x 74”/188 cm

🧶 I collabed with to design this cowl, using their gorgeous new yarn BILLOW. Billow combines the structure of a Pima cotton chainette tube with the soft fuzziness of unspun baby alpaca for a super-soft, warm, and fluffy finish. Cotton doesn’t take up dye the same way animal fibers do, so you’ll see highlights of the tube peek through. I hope you’ll give this beautiful fiber a try!

Now onto the pattern details…
A new addition to my Snow Fern Collection. This design is a cowl version of my popular Snow Fern Shawl design. This effortless accessory fits perfectly under your coat or cardigan. The Snow Fern stitch pattern features cables that slowly taper outwards and inwards, creating fern-like shapes. Pattern is written in one size, but a smaller needle can be used for a smaller circumference. All repeats appear in bold text throughout pattern. The pattern is charted and also includes separate written instructions.

Construction
The cowl is worked flat, from the top down, before joining in the round and worked down towards the center point. A garter edge finishes off the cowl.

🚘 Road Knits 🛣️

Headed to a few doctors appointments yesterday, which meant over an hour of knitting time in the car. Plus, waiting room knitting. You’ll never catch a knitter complaining about having to wait if they have their knitting with them.

I’m working up a new design for the spring in some fun textures. Not sure yet how I feel about this combination but trust that it will likely be several hours and rows in, before I decide to frog it all and start over with something different. 🤣 Oh, the joys of designing!

I went back and forth on whether to release this new design this month or wait until the fall/winter season. But my Poll results helped push me to get it worked up and ready for testing!

• Needle size is US 4/3.5 mm
• Pattern is written in Magic Loop but DPN’s can also be used

A new design is on its way… 👀

Hands down, my most popular pattern last year was my SNOW FERN SHAWL. Knitters loved this pattern and I honestly don’t know if it’s my Snow Fern stitch, the shawl shape or just a combination of the two. But this pushed me to come up with a new design that utilizes the Snow Fern stitch but allows you to throw something on over your head without any fuss. Think, a fluffy warm shawl that doesn’t need to be styled or pinned or tied into place.

I’m still working the pattern up and tweaking some design elements here and there. But I’m shooting for sometime next week to have this one ready for testing. 🥳

An added bonus is that this cowl only takes ONE skein of BILLOW. This yarn has been an absolute dream to work with. The blend of baby alpaca and Pima cotton create a soft, squishy fabric that lends warmth and a beautiful halo to your knitted garments. And the skeins have a very generous 320 yards/290 m! 👏
