Dermaplaning is an effective and safe exfoliation procedure. I use a sterile surgical scalpel to shave the surface of the skin to remove excess dead skin and vellous hairs (peach fuzz). The tool is held at a 45 degree angle and is brushed along the skin to remove the hair and skin cells. It can be done as a stand-alone procedure, but it does create the perfect canvas for the application of other products such as masks, peels, or collagen. The procedure makes skin look and feel smoother and will reduce the appearance of acne scars. The brightening effect on the skin is immediate, and it can help skin-care products sink in better and makeup go on smoother.
It painlessly exfoliates and stimulates cellular turnover with little to no downtime.
It is a great option for clients with sensitive skin and pregnant women who are looking for a deep exfoliation.
It can be performed prior to treatments like facials, laser, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels for better product pe*******on.
It can be performed frequently (monthly).
It helps makeup go on smoother and more evenly.
It can help significantly lighten post inflammatory scars from past acne.
It does not make the hair grow back thicker and darker.
It prevents breakouts by moving the top flare of skin cells and preventing the pores from becoming clogged.
It can help to eliminate age spots as well as melasma, fine lines, wrinkles, and broken capillaries.
Chemical Peels
A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back after a chemical peel is smoother and younger looking. Chemical peels are used to treat wrinkles, skin discoloration and scars. A chemical peel can be done alone or in combination with other cosmetic procedures. At Forever Young, we use Allergan products and their line of chemical peels. This is a line of medical grade chemical peels from the same company that brought us Botox and can only be prescribed by a licensed medical professional. They help to provide radiant, vibrant looking skin with minimal down time. Allergan SkinMedica® Peels address the visible skin imperfections that result from skin aging and sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture. Peels also address skin tone unevenness that can be caused by acne scarring or pigmentary changes.
At Forever Young, we also carry the full line of SkinMedica® skin care products. This line is brought to you by Allergan and has been developed by scientists to produce a superior product that is suited for all skin types. IPL Photofacial
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial is a laser light treatment that targets pigment issues, such as brown spots, sun damage and red spots, and Rosacea. The bright light passes through the epidermis, drawing out the pigment producing cells and dispersing the uneven pigment. IPL Photofacial can be used on the face, neck, chest, shoulders, back, arms, legs, hands, and just about anywhere else. Photofacial is also an effective treatment for broken veins and spider veins. Photofacial results perpetually improve over time, with best results being seen three months after the last treatment.
Laser Hair Reduction
Laser hair removal is popular with people wanting a solution to hair removal that is more permanent than some other methods. Using lasers to remove hair works by stopping the hair follicles from growing new hairs. Most people find the procedure to be uncomfortable, but not painful. It takes between 3-8 sessions to achieve optimal results. Laser hair reduction can be done on almost any area and both men and women frequently have it performed. It is recommended to be repeated at 4-6 week intervals until hair growth subsides.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Removal of a tattoo completely or partially for a cover-up is achievable with the use of lasers that target the pigment in the ink and break it down. Tattoo removal is very individual, with factors such as the age and colors of the tattoo, skin pigment, location, and lifestyle habits effecting the number of treatments required. A consult is always recommended before scheduling your appointment for tattoo removal.
