Just putting it out there that the reason you can get a substance use Disorder Evaluation from the tribe for free, it’s because they have funding to do them for free. That is their job, I worked in that system for years and understand that is a part of the employees work that are credentialed.
My business has to charge because at this time I am a Native woman owned-for profit business. I have been questioned about my credentials and how come I can charge and if we really are qualified.
The answer is Yes!! I am qualified, my worker is qualified. I have worked in this field for 30 years, credentialed for 28 years. I have been approved by my credentialing board to have a private practice, I have my LAC and a Masters Degree in Addictions Counseling. I have a business license on the reservation and with the state.
We don’t do this full time, because I have a full time job, but we can help when needed, if we are available. I have a staff of one. I am hoping to pull in one more by late Spring.
