Hormones, Headaches, and Tracking Your Cycle
For instance, during your Luteal Phase (the two weeks before menstruation begins) your estrogen starts to drop with progesterone not far behind it.
Estrogen is responsible for many functions, and it has an influence on mental clarity and mood stabilization.
Progesterone has a sedating effect that can make you feel ‘low’.
When estrogen is low it is not uncommon for that to trigger headaches in women and other PMS related symptoms.
If you struggle with constant headaches but don’t know why, tracking your cycle may reveal a pattern linked to hormonal shifts.
As you track your cycle you can write down the days you are getting headaches. If you notice they only come during the luteal phase your headaches could be from the large drop in hormones.
Obviously its not that easy to know without further testing, and this isn’t meant to be a diagnoses by any stretch of the imagination. This is just a guy trying to understand how to use his skills to help women.
Let’s talk tomorrow on how I propose using massage therapy to potentially support PMS symptoms.
P.S.: This is a picture of my cat, Rosie, a year and a half ago when she was pregnant with four kittens. She looks dead in this picture, but she's not lol. Thought it would relate a lot with the women reading 🤣
