People are under more stress lately. They are concerned not only about their health, family, or job. They have global concerns. Breaking down our concerns into more manageable bits can relieve much of our anxiety.
Breathe, sit in a comfortable position. Pick one issue or feeling that is particularly bothering you today.
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being extremely anxious or upset, rate your feelings concerning this issue.
1) Tap, gently, on the top of your head, breath slowly, tap about 10 times.
2)repeat step one at the inner corner of your eyebrow,
3) move to the temple, tap .
4) move to chin, just below lower lip, tap.
5) move to just below clavicle,tap.
You can continue to move down your body, ribs, inner thigh above knee. The 5 areas listed above are sufficient for many people. Also, you can easily tap those 5 areas even in public.
As you go through the tapping, repeating to yourself, “even though I feel_________, I completely accept, forgive, and love myself. “Yes, for some of us it takes a bit of time to become comfortable with that phrasing. Use all or part of the statement, as you feel comfortable.
Example: “even though I feel angry, I completely forgive myself.”
Example: “ even though I feel angry, I am moving toward forgiving.
You may need to repeat the five tapping steps more than once. That’s normal. It depends on how much pain, anger, fear, etc., you may be feeling.
After completing each set of the 5 steps, take a moment. Breathe, assess your level of pain, anxiety, etc.. Ideally, your number has dropped well below your starting number.
