Holystic Yoga Cultivating holistic wellness through the on and off the mat practice of breath, movement, mindfulness, and devotion to God. The tools of yoga helped both.

My name is Virginia Norman and I am a certified yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance (RYT200) and I have just completed YogaFaith's 500hr masters training. I found yoga through my own experience with chronic illness and depression. I deeply believe that these practices can help to integrate mental and physical wellness, which led me to seek certification to teach. I got my 200hr certificate through a traditional yoga school, and while I enjoyed most of what I learned, there were some things that I was uncomfortable with as a Christian. Though it is not a religion, yoga is an inherently spiritual practice with the power to affect us physically, mentally, and spiritually. I later found YogaFaith, which approaches the practice of yoga from a Christian worldview, linking the spiritual aspects of yoga to the worship of the God of the Bible, Christ Jesus, Holy Spirit. YogaFaith integrates movement, mindfulness, and prayer into moving, flowing worship. It is a beautiful and powerful way to connect to our Creator. As a Master Trainer, I am now equipped to teach a variety of levels and styles of yoga, which can be tailored to an individual or group. I have additional training in SOZO and Somatics, Yin, Yoga Nidra and sound bowls. I also belly danced semi-professionally for a decade with two different troupes. My style is mostly Turkish, Egyptian cabaret, and Ghawazi. Belly dance movements are very grounded and feminine and are also an excellent workout. Classes and workshops are a lot of fun!

Seated postures allow us to be still in God’s presence and seek His guidance.

Holystic Yoga...integrated wellness.

Hi. I’m Virginia and this is Holystic Yoga. My mission is to help people integrate mind, body and spiritual wellness through the practice of breath, movement, mindfulness, and devotion. Breath calms the mind, relaxes the body, and creates space for prayerful meditation. Movement keeps the body strong and flexible, releases beneficial chemicals into the brain, and can be worshipful as we give thanks for our amazing bodies. Mindfulness helps us to tune into our own intuition and to what God has to say regarding our bodies and our actions day to day. Devotion connects us to the One who can give us wisdom and insight into our health and wellness for mind and body. I am a firm believer that we are three parts - mind, body and spirit - and all three parts work together for our total wellness.

I believe in this mission because I have been walking it out in my personal life for years and I know the power of this kind of integration. My journey has led me through belly dance classes and troupe performances, yoga classes and yoga teacher training, Biblical studies, an ever growing relationship with my Creator, and intense research into how diet, exercise, mindfulness, self-care, spirituality and mental health play into our overall health and wellness.

I am RYT200 with Yoga Alliance with special trainings in yin and restorative styles of yoga.

Grace and Peace!
