Hi friends + welcome new faces! heres a little about me + what I do at Luna 🌙
I'm Chelsea (She/Her). I am a 200hr certified trauma informed yoga and meditation teacher through the Anuttara School of Yoga. I have also completed Somatic Movement Training with SomaYoga Institute. I am also currently in schooling to be a licensed massage therapist + am looking forward to offering trauma informed massage to the community this summer. I am the sole owner of Luna Somatic Yoga + Wellness.
My passion is to help teach you tools to help soothe your nervous system. By utilizing a holistic and supportive mind-body approach, I encourage making a safe connection with the body to allow healing.
At Luna we practice interoception (sensing internal bodily signals) + somatic (body-centered) restorative + slow flow yoga, pranayama (breathwork) + meditation, and yoga nidra. I teach these valuable skills that allow students to continue practicing them in spaces they experience safety.
My trauma-informed classes are curated with the intention of holding space for others to allow them to deeply nourish and calm their mind, body and soul. The goal is to leave my classes feeling grounded, more relaxed and connected with your body. Luna is not a fast paced yoga practice, instead we aim for as much relaxation as possible.
I offer small group classes (maximum of 10 people) in Kalamazoo county, one-on-one Somatic Healing Sessions at Embody Healing Collective and online virtual classes. I provide all yoga accessories needed to attend classes with me including a mat, yoga blocks, a bolster and a blanket + my yoga classes are on a sliding scale to keep my offerings financially accessible to all.
