Pisces Solar Eclipse: A Jungian & Vedic Astrology Deep Dive

My soul, where are you? Do you hear me? I speak, I call you - are you there? I have returned, I am here again. I have shaken the dust of all the lands from my feet, and I have come to you, I am with you. After long years of long wandering, I have come to you again. Should I tell you everything I have seen, experienced, and drunk in? Or do you not want to hear about all the noise of life and the world? But one thing you must know: the one thing I have learned is that one must live this life. Do you still know me? How long the separation lasted! Everything has become so different. And how did I find you? How strange my journey was! What words should I use to tell you on what twisted paths a good star has guided me to you? Give me your hand, my almost forgotten soul. How warm the joy at seeing you again, you long disavowed soul. Life has led me back to you. Let us thank the life I have lived for all the happy and all the sad hours, for every joy, for every sadness. My soul, my journey should continue with you. I will wander with you and ascend to my solitude.

― C.G. Jung, The Red Book

Tonight, we stand at the threshold of a profound celestial moment—a solar eclipse in Pisces, with seven planets converging in the oceanic depths of the last sign of the zodiac. I have been calling this the “My soul, my soul where are you?”— eclipse! Or even a Red Book eclipse. If ever there was a time to start your own Red Book, it’s now!

This is no ordinary eclipse; it’s a gateway, a descent into the mystical realms where the unconscious stirs, dreams speak, and the soul remembers what it has forgotten. It’s a night of deep dissolution, divine intoxication, and the unraveling of illusions.

From a Jungian perspective, this eclipse embodies the great Return. Pisces rules the collective unconscious—the vast, uncharted sea of archetypes, dreams, and ancestral memories. As the sky darkens, we are drawn into a confrontation with our shadows, our unlived potentials, and the remnants of past lives, glints of Deja Vu through the veils. This is the dissolving of the ego’s relentless grip, the Neptunian baptism where we surrender to the numinous and allow our consciousness to be reshaped by forces far beyond our control. Easier said than done! But do we have a choice?

Seven planets in Pisces—this is a full immersion in the sacred waters! The walls between worlds dissolve, the psychic tides rise, and the siren songs of the deep call us to let go of what no longer serves. Which outworn realities, personas, attachments, clutter, and stagnant patterns are up for eclipsing? Mars, Saturn, Neptune, the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, and Venus—all gathered in the most liminal, otherworldly space of the zodiac are working in service of your soul. If there was ever a moment to meet the unconscious, to listen to the voice of the forgotten gods, to step beyond the veil into the imaginal realm—it is N-O-W!

This cosmic initiation takes place in Uttara Bhadrapada—the nakshatra of the deep mystic, the ancient serpent of the underworld, Ahirbudhnya. This lunar mansion is no stranger to the void. It is the great funeral pyre of the soul, where purification happens not in the fire of Aries (we are speaking in Sidereal/Vedic astrology), but in the quiet, subterranean waters of Pisces. Uttara Bhadrapada asks us to sit in the stillness of our own abyss, to listen to what emerges when all distractions have faded away. It is the final dissolution before the rebirth of Aries—the moment before the phoenix rises from the ashes. More on Sherene Vismaya's Substack see below.

April 3 — Cancer is both a sign and an archetype. It represents home in a literal and figurative way. It helps us to forge emotional bonds and a sense of kinship that touches into our most primal needs … to belong and feel safe. Life isn’t always so easy, of course.

Cancer also represents something in our personal astrology. It doesn’t matter if we are not a Cancer or we do not have any planets in Cancer. We have all twelve signs in our astrology. Cancer may be a relationship sign for us or our career sign.

Regardless, that domain of our lives as well as Cancer as a theme and energy will be a major focus over the next six months. We’re just getting our first feels into what this recent solar eclipse will mean for us into September 2025.

If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for April 4, 2025.
