Portland's favorite annual community bike ride is back!

Join us Aug. 10 for the Providence Bridge Pedal. This one-of-a-kind ride across Portland's iconic bridges offers multiple car-free routes for bikers and walkers with stunning views of the city. This includes the upper decks of both the Marquam and Fremont bridges for bikers. Walkers will enjoy a five-mile walk across the Fremont and Steel bridges.

🗓️ In-person playgroups start 7/21 at Swindells Resource Center in the Providence Child Center. The second developmental playgroup starts on 7/24. Enjoy a meal and explore how to support your child's social-emotional development through play.

🌐 Virtual Circle of Security parenting classes begin 7/22. Strengthen your parent-child relationship with flexible Tuesday (9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.) or Wednesday (1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.) slots.

Playgroup participants will receive:
• A free, healthy meal for your entire family
• On-site childcare for siblings that are 7+ years of age
• Weekly gas/public transportation reimbursements for each family
• Learning materials and individualized age-appropriate developmental play kits to foster your child's development

Today, medical care isn’t something that Jamal and his family worry about.

For Jamal and his wife, who moved to Washington in 2021, Medicaid (also known as Medi-Cal in California) was a lifeline.

After his restaurant job in 2024 didn’t provide insurance coverage, and his wife required extra care during her pregnancy, Medicaid stepped in to offer the support they needed. Health care professionals were there to assist the family in securing pregnancy coverage and enrolling their child in Medicaid, ensuring they continue to receive the care they deserve as they prepared for their second pregnancy.
