Caitlin Quinby—Gyrokinesis Instructor Gyrokinesis® classes with Caitlin Quinby--breathe, move, feel, lengthen, strengthen, enjoy! A typical class begins on a stool and progresses to the floor.

My favorite thing about the GYROKINESIS® Method is that the movements evoke deep enjoyment in my body. In that enjoyment, tensions, toxins, and emotional contraction are effortlessly released. My heart opens and I feel my body’s actual condition of connectedness to its environment. This feeling dimension of GYROKINESIS® arises from a foundation of carefully crafted movements that are coordinated with the breath, and that 1) move the spine in all directions 2) encourage joint articulation 3) strengthen the whole body, from its center, outward, and 4) create space in compressed areas by engaging contrasting forces with the body. The flowing quality of the movements naturally accommodates a wide range of body types and movement capability. Each movement sequence builds upon the previous, thoroughly engaging the musculature, the nervous system, the circulatory system, the respiratory system. By the end of class, you will feel as if you’ve had a massage from the inside out, like you are taller, and all your energy systems have been gently harmonized. After 6 years of weekly practice, I now (in my mid-40s) feel stronger and have a greater freedom of movement than I did in my 20s and 30s. My development as a certified GYROKINESIS® instructor has been guided and cultivated by truly outstanding and generous teachers here in Portland—Alicia Buoni, Erin Munoz, and Master Trainer Emma Kingston. I continue to train with all of them, and their talents and skills infuse and inform my teaching. In my life as a whole, I am always guided by and devoted to Adi Da Samraj, my beloved Spiritual Master and Teacher--who is and calls all to Only Love. Just returned from my final Gyrokinesis(r) certification in LA, with the AMAZING Master Trainer Nancie Lepore. My favorite lesson: Pleasure happens when movement is fulfilled--like sneezing or yawning (and fulfillment is not measured by how big the movement is).
