Spring has sprung, and so has one of nature’s hidden gems—Cleavers! 🌿

This common backyard herb, is not just a w**d; it’s a powerful ally for lymphatic support and detoxification. Known for its gentle yet effective ability to cleanse the lymphatic system, Cleavers helps reduce swelling and promote the natural removal of toxins from our bodies.

This makes it incredibly beneficial during times of hormonal shifts where our bodies crave extra support and care.

Spring is the the season of renewal, take a moment to explore your own backyard or local green spaces. You might just find Cleavers growing there, ready to be brewed into a soothing tea or added to your favorite smoothie for a detox boost.

Seen in these pictures is a cold-infusion tea I made from cleavers yesterday. I gathered the cleavers up, washed it, pulled off the leaves and put them in a jar, then filled it with cold water and let it sit for 8 hours.

Yum! it tastes like cucumber water and is so good for you.

I am also making a backyard spring herbal vinegar which includes cleavers, i’l show you that another time :)

Let’s harness the natural power of Cleavers to rejuvenate and align our bodies with the season of growth. Here’s to feeling refreshed, balanced, and vibrant! 💚✨

It’s the start of cold and flu season. Did you know that a virus takes gold and replicates in your nose and throat? And if you take care to wash it away ( with gargling or nasal irritation) or use a spray with virucidal ingredients, you can avoid “ catching” a cold or shorten its length and severity (studies show this, it’s not just simply anecdotal). When I’m on the go i with use these sprays: biocidin throat spray and colloidal silver nose spray. I use this multiple times through he day of travel and once I’ve arrived at my destination I shower, wash up and spray again.

There are so many ways our lives promote our Sympathetic Nervous System.

We may be:
-getting constant phone notifications
-feel stress from politics
-have difficult conversations more often than not
-Rush to get the kids to school on time
-try and do ALL THE THINGS

When we promote the sympathetic nervous system, we aren’t giving our body the time to rest and recover.

Instead, you can make a few changes (even just 1) to your day to promote the ParaSympathetic Nervous system instead!

Try:
-Reducing your interactions with the negative people in your life
-Give and receive lots of hugs(and kisses)
-Practice gratitude daily: make lists of 3 or more things
-Spend time in nature

Which one are you adding to your daily routine? Let me know in the comments below!

Looking to stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system?

Many people live in a sympathetic state (fight or flight) due to our busy go-go-go lifestyle and culture. The problem is that healing takes place when we are in a parasympathetic state (rest, digest, repair, reproduce).  We need to put more attention towards stimulating this part of the nervous system in order to support healing.

In order to create more balance within our nervous systems and create a physiological atmosphere for healing, we MUST pay attention to the parasympathetic side of the nervous system.

Here are some things you can do to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system ( rest and digest).  Try and choose at least one thing to help you calm and heal daily!

1. Learn how to say no!
2. Go to bed early
3. Breathe deeply
4. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables
5. Meditate

Winter solstice is upon us: The dark days, the celebrations of light and love, the gift giving and receiving. This time of year I like to pause and take stock of my gratitudes. Even during a pandemic, with all the social and emotional losses, the health crises and the political strife, there are still things to be grateful for.

You, my loves, are at the top of my list.

📚I learn from working with you, you are my teachers
🌊Helping you navigate your health and wellness helps me and keeps me “in the flow”
👭I am grateful for my connections with you as people, not just as patients
💸My business ( you) helps support my family
🌟Working with you allows me to follow my passion of helping people to figure out how to live their most vital lives.
💜Your progress through my protocols INSPIRES me to also live my most health and vital life

Thank you!

Let’s talk vitamin D

Our bodies make it from the sun,
⭐️if we are not wearing sunblock.
⭐️if our location on earth is close enough to the sun ☀️

So in the pacific NW where I live, I cannot get vitamin D at this time of year. 🌏

If you live in a northern latitude, you also can’t get enough from the sun.

In the summer time, I recommend exposing arms and legs to the sun for 20-30 minutes mid day (without sunblock) ☀️

In the winter, I take vitamin D. And because I have a certain vitamin gene mutation, I must take vitamin D multiple times per day in order to absorb it. 💊

What does vitamin D do?
👉Works like a a hormone in the body as a chemical messenger
👉Supports immunity
👉Supports bone health
👉Important for mental health
👉And so much more.

Do you take vitamin D?
How much you need depends on what your levels of 25 hydroxy vitamin d are in you blood and also what your vitamin D genes are like.
