Reading a chart of a recent astrological client, I saw a marked connection to orphans, both as a pathway of their own healing and as a focus of their Dharmic mission in this life. It turned out to be their multi-decade career, and was indeed the primary outward context of their own healing. This happens far too often and is much too specific to be chance. Fascinating.

The Lion's Gate is very bad astrology, dating back to an interpretation of a singular eclipse on 8/8/1998. A good reddit post with a link to the original 1998 website article is below in the comments. But, if you want to wake up and roar, you should go ahead anyhow!

A Course in Evolutionary and Archetypal Astrology- Sundays, May 19th to July 7th, 6:30-8/8:30 pm UK time.

This is a class geared toward developing a very sturdy foundation in astrological language and birth chart reading. By the end of this class, if one puts in the work, one can expect to be a very solid chart reader. More importantly, the deeper purpose of this class is to commune with the archetypes at the core of this ancient way of seeing. As such, we will also be exploring the many connections between astrological practice and intuitive development. This is a practice in Seeing.

Classes will be recorded so that participants can make up any missed sessions. There is a regular fee of 250 USD, and some scholarship sliding scale spaces available.

I've essentially been preparing this course for the past 9 years. Like any good Saturnian person, important things can take a long, long time. . .

Informal Announcement of Long Brewing Astrological Course

Sunday, May 19th is the first day of a 7-week Astrology Course in the fundamentals of chart reading and beyond, paired with tips in opening the intuitive lens in the process. We'll be meeting each Sunday (except for June 2nd), from May 19th to July 7th for 90 minutes to 2 hours at 6:30 pm UK time.

If you are keen to attend, let me know. I have to finalize the fee structure (the regular fee will be between 250 and 300, with scholarships available) and make my mind up on the extra offerings, but the dates are set.

Happy Eclipse Day!

Astrologically, solar eclipses are treated like New Moons on steroids. They have the tendency of amplifying whatever one is going through. As such, during eclipses I tend to add more time in meditation and prayer to the daily routine, and engage in acts of service and love. They are also wonderful periods to translate the deep dreams of the soul into physical reality. Ishtar Howell

About Awakened Light Astrology

There are no good charts and there are no bad charts. The chart doesn’t reveal a sinner from a saint, a "success" from a "failure". It doesn’t determine whether you are going to gain Enlightenment or otherwise. It’s a map for navigation, revealing the general tides of a life, the prevailing winds of the soul, the hidden currents of the psyche, unforeseen rocks of karma, and the kinds of lessons we will face again and again until we've mastered them. A deep understanding of one’s chart gives us the insight to make life easier by catching those winds with sails, effortlessly gliding with the currents, and taking timely steps to gracefully avoid the rocks. Astrology is an amazingly effective tool for clearly seeing the way to one's fullest potential.

Astrology is a kind of map of the journey through life. The signs, planets, and houses are archetypal patterns that combine to form a very specific individualized picture (the birthchart) of how the symphony of the universe plays through the dance that is your life. The birth chart is a window into the soul and the psyche. It’s a map of the patterns that play out and the archetypal energies that have the most pronounced roles. Like a fingerprint, it’s rather unique to the individual- a highly personalized out-picturing of one’s spiritual and psychological tendencies, possessing clues to creating a life of optimal happiness, abundance, and joy.

The style of astrology I practice can be called Evolutionary Astrology. Simply put, the aim of my Astrological work is to assist my clients in bringing about their greatest personal evolution, happiness, and fulfillment in the shortest amount of time. The chart can reveal ways of transcending self-defeating patterns, minimizing karmic pitfalls, accentuating strengths and talents, and accessing hidden wellsprings of energy, creativity, bliss, and love.
