Project Semicolon Project Semicolon® is a nonprofit dedicated to mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Project Semicolon is not a 24-hour helpline.

Project Semicolon hopes to serve as an inspiration. If this is an emergency, or if you are worried that you or someone you know may be at risk for suicide, please call your local authorities (911), contact a mental health professional, or call and talk to someone at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

Some days are not won loudly.

Some days, survival looks like getting through the next hour.
The next breath.
The next impossible moment.

The semicolon reminds us that there were days we didn’t think we would make it through, and somehow, we did.

If this speaks to you today, stay.
Not forever all at once.
Just for now.

Your story is still here.
And that matters.

When someone you love says they do not want to be here anymore, the pressure to say the perfect thing can feel overwhelming.

But support does not start with perfect words.

It starts with staying present.
It starts with believing them.
It starts with asking directly.
It starts with helping them get through the next few minutes safely.

You are not expected to become their therapist.
You are not expected to carry this alone.
But your response can help someone feel less alone in one of the hardest moments of their life.

If someone is in immediate danger, stay with them and call or text 988 for support in the U.S.

You do not have to know exactly what to say.
Just don’t disappear.

Save this. Share it. Someone may need it before they know how to ask.

Sometimes the smallest reminder can carry the most meaning.

A semicolon.
A smile.
A quiet reason to keep going.

For some, it represents their own story.
For others, it represents someone they love.
For others, it is a quiet way of standing for mental health awareness, compassion, and hope.

The semicolon is a symbol of support, solidarity, and hope.

Not everyone who is hurting knows how to say it.
And not everyone who is struggling looks like they need help.

Sometimes the signs are quiet.
A change in energy.
Less presence.
A joke that feels heavier than it sounds.

If someone came to mind while reading this, reach out.
You do not need the perfect words.
Just let them know they are not alone.

Yesterday, you showed up.

Across stories, conversations, and shared moments — you reminded people they’re not alone.

That’s what World Semicolon Day has always been about.

And it doesn’t end here.

The conversations continue. The support continues. The stories continue.

If you shared, gave, or simply took a moment to reflect — thank you.

We keep going.

Today is World Semicolon Day.

A reminder that your story isn’t over — even when it feels like it is.

For years, this symbol has been carried by people across the world through moments they didn’t think they’d survive.

Today, we show up for them — and for each other.

Whether you share your story, start a conversation, or support the mission, it all matters.

Through April 18, every gift is doubled — helping us reach more people who need support right now.

Be part of what keeps it going.

Yesterday, we were reminded how far this symbol has reached.

Across every country, every language, every story — people showed up.

That’s what Project Semicolon has always been about.

This World Semicolon Day, you can help carry that forward.

Through April 18, every donation is matched 1:1 by Apple Inc. — doubling your impact.

If this has ever meant something to you, this is the moment to give.

Be part of what keeps it going.

Across every country, every language, every life…

The meaning stays the same.

A semicolon is a pause — not an ending.
A choice to continue, even when it’s hard.

Today, we stand together in that choice.
