【NEW】SyCip × SimWorks J.J. Bar
In another installment of the handlebar series we’re developing with framebuilder Jeremy Sycip of Santa Rosa, California, we’ve revisited one of his earlier designs.
After updating the JJJ Bar, our attention has turned to the J.J. Bar, originally designed for city riding, and brought up to date with modern specifications.
The updated version refines that idea while improving compatibility: the grip diameter has been changed from 23.8 mm (the traditional road standard) to 22.2 mm, matching standard MTB handlebars.
This adjustment allows the use of flat-bar brake levers, thumb shifters, and index shifters, giving riders more freedom to customize their setups. The design has also been refined for relaxed city commuting, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of urban bicycles.
The J.J. Bar has grown from 620 mm to 740 mm, giving extra width for stability and control, especially useful on gravel roads or longer rides. The 31.8 mm center clamp section has been extended, making it easier to mount front bags, lights, or electronics.
These refinements create a handlebar that harmonizes with diverse riding styles, from everyday city streets to gravel touring and casual commuting.
