Yeti made his rounds today, and let’s just say… smiles were in full supply across SOMC 🐾💙

Yeti a wonderful member of the SOMC Volunteer Pawsitive Care Team hopped into Easter spirit, spreading comfort, joy, and a whole lot of tail-wagging happiness today at SOMC. With those adorable bunny ears and his sweet personality, it’s safe to say Yeti might just be the cutest Easter bunny in town 🐰✨

It is with great sadness that I share the information that funeral services for Marilyn Mercer will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28th at the Ralph Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service on Saturday. Marilyn was a volunteer at SOMC, as well as a Kardia Guild member, and will be greatly missed. Sending heartfelt sympathy to her family and volunteer friends.

The Kardia Guild gathered in the new Volunteer Office for their March business meeting this afternoon, and it was the perfect mix of productivity and fun. Between catching up with one another, welcoming and recruiting volunteers who stopped by, and enjoying some delicious pizza from the SOMC Cafeteria, it was a meeting full of connection and positivity. There’s nothing better than good conversation, great company, and a shared passion for making a difference. We’re so grateful for this amazing group and the heart they bring to everything they do ❤️.

Serving Up Smiles & Sloppy Joes…Several volunteers stopped by the Volunteer Café & Grill to celebrate National Sloppy Joe Day today. Therefore we served up not only delicious Sloppy Joe sandwiches, a variety of chips, and a cookie…but several smiles too! Great food is always better when shared with great people 🖤
