VQHI would like to complicate our call for all-gender bathrooms. While we wish to erode and subvert the gender binary, we also have to acknowledge the experiences and ontological realities of all those affected by patriarchial violence. So with that said, VQHI will remain persistent with taping over "Men's" bathroom signs with "All Gender" signs, while leaving some "Women's" bathroom signs remaining as they are.

This week there will be two opportunities to attend the Trans Allyship Trainings, co-sponsored by the LGBTQ Center and TransMission. The training is open to all students, faculty, staff, and administrators. We strongly encourage faculty to attend, so please invite your professors!
The training will focus on a variety of topics, including (but not limited to) vocabulary, institutionalized ciss*xism, pronouns, race and gender, and trans issues in the classroom. Both sessions will be facilitated by Spencer Garcia ’18 and Chris Rodriguez’19, with support from Judy Jarvis.
The sessions will be held on Thursday, November 19th from 1:30-3pm and 5-6:30pm in the CC MPR (the same material will be offered at each session). RSVP to Chris (chrodriguez@vassar.edu) to reserve your spot.
For those who have attended a Trans Allyship Training in the past, do consider attending again. The facilitators have made significant and important changes to the materials and there is always more to learn!

Successful day of free STI testing (and condom decorating)! Stay tuned for when Hudson Valley Community Services' Regional Prevention Initiative will return to Vassar for more testing.

Friends! If you were not able to sign up for this round of STI testing, never fear! Hudson Valley Community Services will be coming as many times as we can get filled up! So swing by the LGBTQ Center tomorrow, from 10-5 to sign up for our upcoming dates. You don't need to sign up for a specific day just yet because we are still in the process of locking them down. Also there will be free safer s*x supplies and fun brochures!
