The 5th Annual Warrior golf outing was last Friday and it gave us more than we could have hoped for - more fun, more sun, more friends, more laughs, more funds raised for CHD heart research, and more hope. With over $250k raised from this event, we are excited to share that The Izak Szymczak Heart Fund will be selecting a research project to fund this fall for the next two years. THIS is the collective change we had set out for and we could not be here without all of your support. T H A N K Y O U!

A week later and we are still recovering from
The 4th Annual Warrior Golf Outing! Every year the weather, the people, the auction items, the money raised, the fun, the laughs, the hangover.... gets better and better!! Registration opens at noon today for the 4th Annual The Warrior Golf Outing benefiting The Izak Szymczak Heart Fund. This event sells out fast so be sure to register today! We are looking forward to spending another beautiful day with you all in September!

Raising funds for CHD research is critically important and personally very meaningful to our family. Our son, Izak, was born on July 16, 2018 with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). To our surprise, he was not prediagnosed and our world changed forever that day.

Izak. Is. A. Beast. No other way to describe it. 6 hour open heart surgery yesterday, and they are talking about discharge tomorrow! Can’t stop won’t stop. Izak is out of the ICU and in the step down unit, continuing to kick ass.
This was him negotiating to stay home from school the next 6 weeks. SMH. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Izak’s next heart surgery is scheduled for Monday, February 26. We are hopeful this will improve other challenges that Izak is facing. We are also optimistic we should only be inpatient for that week. We appreciate all the prayers, good vibes, and support!!

Heart Warrior. 💪🏻 The plan is to go home this afternoon.
Yesterday was enlightening. We had to spend a few hours in the ICU yesterday post-cath due to soft blood pressures.
The team was able to find some minor areas to “bandaid” (balloon his stent, coil a collateral), but no smoking gun that we hoped for. Unfortunately, what we were told is that Izak’s ASD (atrial septal defect - hole in heart - which is what you actually want in a single ventricle kiddo) is narrowing. He will need to undergo another open heart surgery soon (February). Whether that fix assists in other symptoms and issues (ple) is unknown; but the surgery is needed.
We will continue to update as we know more.

12 hours of Albumin infusions + Lasix = new Izak and bye bye belly! We haven’t seen his eyes in months! Prepped and ready for a good day!
