For years, I felt like I was fighting a losing battle with my grief. It was like trying to blow out trick birthday candles—you know, the ones that flicker out for a second, only to reignite, no matter how hard you try to extinguish them. I spent so much energy trying to blow away the pain, only to have it flare back up, leaving me more exhausted and frustrated than before.

That’s how unresolved grief feels. No matter how many times I tried to burn it away, to overcome it, the pain would return. And I’d be left wondering why nothing I did ever seemed to make it disappear for good.

Over time, I’ve learned something important: not all grief can be burned away. It’s not about overcoming or blowing out the flame for good—it’s about tending the fire differently. In some of my fire rituals, where I used to focus on “letting go” and “transmuting pain,” I’ve started to build new fires—fires that cleanse and refine, rather than erase. Fires that may never fully disintegrate my pain, but instead transform how I carry it.

This is the essence of SoulEase.

In SoulEase, we’re not trying to blow out the grief or burn it away entirely. Instead, we’re learning to tend the fire within us—the one that refines our inner light, that makes us stronger, more resilient. We are finding the light that won’t burn out, the one that lives inside us because we’ve learned to tend to the fires that strengthen us, rather than the ones that burn us.

Here’s what SoulEase offers:

1. No Expectation to Overcome or Burn Away Your Grief 🔥
We’re not here to push for closure or demand that you overcome your pain. SoulEase is a space where your grief is allowed to exist, without the pressure to fix or extinguish it. Just like those trick candles, sometimes the flame flickers back to life. And in SoulEase, that’s okay.

2. Learning to Build New Fires 🔥
Instead of trying to blow out your pain, we’ll learn how to build new fires—ones that cleanse rather than consume. Fires that refine your inner strength rather than burn you out. You’ll learn how to release the weight differently, knowing that some pain may never fully disappear, but it can be transformed.

3. Finding Your Inner 💡 Light
The heart of SoulEase is discovering that you have a light within you that’s stronger than any fire that burns you. We’re here to help you tend to that light, to keep it steady, even when grief flickers back into your life. This is about learning to rise with the fire, not in spite of it.

4. A Community to Tend the Flame Together 🔥
Unresolved grief can feel isolating, but in SoulEase, you’re surrounded by others who are tending their own fires. We’re here to hold space for each other, to share in the experience of grief that doesn’t go away but changes over time. Together, we’ll nurture the flames that strengthen, not consume us.

I created SoulEase because I’ve been there—exhausted from trying to blow out a pain that refused to leave. What I’ve learned is that healing doesn’t mean extinguishing the grief. It means learning to carry it differently, tending to the fire inside us that refines us, rather than the one that consumes us.

Grief is often understood as a process with a beginning and an end—a journey with defined stages that help us move from loss to acceptance. But what happens when the loss you’re grieving doesn’t fit neatly into this framework? What if the person you’re mourning is still physically present, but emotionally distant? Or what if the relationship you lost never truly ended, leaving you in a limbo of unresolved pain?

This is the painful reality of ambiguous loss. It’s the grief that comes when there is no closure, no clear end to the relationship, connection, or dream you once cherished. You might feel stuck in an endless cycle of unanswered questions, left wondering why you can’t seem to move forward.

But what if healing wasn’t about finding closure? What if true healing comes from learning to find ease in the unresolved?

Healing from ambiguous loss isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about creating space for what can’t be fixed and finding peace in that space.

Whether you’re grieving a loved one who is still physically present but emotionally distant (addiction, mental illness, dementia, brain injury, etc), mourning the end of a relationship that never truly ended (divorce, healing and navigating narcissistic abuse), or grappling with the loss of a dream that never came to be, the pain is real. And it deserves to be acknowledged.

In my SoulEase program, we focus on supporting you as you navigate this complex, often invisible form of loss. Through movement, meditation, expression and community, we create a compassionate space for the unanswered questions and unresolved emotions that come with ambiguous grief.

Living in the uncertainty of ambiguous loss can impact every aspect of your life—your emotional well-being, your relationships, even your physical health. When the grief is complicated by a lack of closure, it can leave you feeling stuck, unable to move forward or find peace.

One of the most painful aspects of narcissistic abuse is the loss of what you thought you had. You may still be grieving the person they pretended to be—the version of them that offered love, security, or validation. But what happens when that love was never real, or was entangled with manipulation and harm?

This is the cruel reality of ambiguous loss within narcissistic abuse. You’re left mourning a relationship, a person, or a version of yourself that feels elusive and unresolved. You may feel lost, wondering if you’ll ever truly heal.
