Moses Brown School Service Trip: Bateys, La Romana, Dominican Republic

Moses Brown School Service Trip: Bateys, La Romana, Dominican Republic A group of Moses Brown students go to the Dominican Republic every year and visit remote villages outside La Romana (locally called bateys).

We set up a clinic within each batey and offer medical attention to the local residents who have very little. Since these residents are restricted in transportation methods, they have no way of traveling to the Good Samaritan Hospital if needed. However, our clinics give them access to doctors and respective medications for only one dollar. Useful donations include:
Glasses: Prescription and sun
Baseball hats
Toiletries: Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, hotel sized shampoo and conditioner, lotion
School Supplies: Pens, pencils, paper
Toys: Small toys, toy cars, barrettes, small balls, jump ropes, small action figures
