Not knowing what to say to someone grieving is a common fear shared by many. ⁣

It’s important to focus on how you show up in someone’s life. Your presence is the most important way you can support anyone moving through grief. Your words will likely have little negative impact if coming from a place of good intention. ⁣

But it can be helpful to have a few key phrases on hand to make you feel more comfortable and help the person grieving feel more comforted.

These words differ based on the relationship and situation, so keep that in mind. ⁣

Please remember that everyone deals with grief differently. It’s always better to ask how you can best support them in their time of need rather than guessing.

Save this post to help you with future situations.⁣

3 Inspiring Takeaways from Our Presentation at the BYU Loss Conference Last Friday

Hey everyone!

Last Friday, my wife Kirsten and I had the honor of presenting at the BYU Loss Conference, and it was truly a blessing to share our journey with all of you. Here are three powerful takeaways that we're still reflecting on:

1️⃣ Embracing Death Anniversaries and Holidays with Intention: We discussed the importance of embracing anniversaries and being intentional about how we approach them. Through our own experiences, we've learned that these moments can be profound opportunities for healing and growth when we approach them with mindfulness and intention.

2️⃣ Finding Strength Through Faith: We shared how God's hand has guided us and provided strength on our healing journey. His presence has been a source of comfort and reassurance, helping us navigate even the darkest of times with hope and resilience.

3️⃣ Our Experience Offers Gifts to Others: Just like throwing a stone in a pond, our experiences create ripples that extend far beyond ourselves. By embracing our journey and sharing our stories, we've been able to offer gifts of healing and support to others who may be struggling. It's been an honor and a blessing to witness the impact of our experiences as they ripple out and touch the lives of others.

As we continue on our paths towards healing and growth, let's remember the power of our stories and the ripple effect they have on those around us. Together, with faith and intention, we can find strength and offer hope to others who may be walking a similar path.

Blessings,

Jason & Kirsten Clawson

🌟 **Exciting Day at Lehi High School with Pretherapy!** 🌟

Hey everyone! Last week, we had an incredible opportunity to share the unique and transformative journey of Pretherapy at Lehi High School's community event. It was a day filled with insightful conversations, laughter, and learning.

Our team set up a vibrant, inviting booth where we introduced students, teachers, and parents to our groundbreaking 6-week pretherapy training program. The buzz was all about how Pretherapy turns the often-daunting prospect of therapy into a fun, engaging, and truly healing journey.

We showcased our Pretherapy box – a compact treasure trove of activities, tools, and resources designed to prepare individuals for therapy. It's packed with humor, warmth, and innovative approaches to tackling mental wellness. The interactive demos were a hit! Participants got a firsthand experience of how Pretherapy makes the preparation for therapy not just easy, but enjoyable too.

What truly stood out was the openness and eagerness of the Lehi High community to embrace new methods of addressing mental health. We had heartfelt discussions, shared stories, and even some laughs about the quirky aspects of our journey toward healing.

Our message was clear: Therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating. It can be a path filled with light-hearted moments, growth, and self-discovery. And Pretherapy is here to guide you through each step with a smile!

A big thank you to Lehi High School for hosting us and to everyone who joined us today. Your enthusiasm and willingness to explore new paths in mental wellness are what drive us. Together, we're breaking the stigma, one laugh and one healing step at a time!

"Happy Wellness Wednesday",

I love to learn about beautiful aspect of our grief journey: how we honor and celebrate our loved ones on those significant days like anniversaries, birthdays, and special occasions.

For me, these days become opportunities to embrace cherished traditions that keep our families loved one's memory alive. It's like our way of saying, "You may be gone, but you're never forgotten."

What are your special rituals and celebrations on these meaningful days? Whether it's lighting a candle, sharing stories, performing acts of kindness, or any other beautiful tradition, I'd love to hear how you celebrate and remember your loved ones.

With love and celebration,
Jason

Hey there, it's Motivational Monday!

You know, my friend, healing from loss can be a lot like working on a puzzle. Some days, you find that perfect piece that fits just right, and other days, it's perfectly fine to let the puzzle be and take a breather.

So, speaking of accomplishments, what's something awesome you did last week that you're super proud of today? It could be big or small, like conquering a personal goal or even just having a moment of peace in the midst of it all.

Share your triumphs with me, because celebrating together makes Mondays a little brighter!

"HAPPY FUN FRIDAY"
Today, let's take a moment to celebrate the lighter side of life amidst our grief. Share something that brought a smile to your face or an experience that made you laugh at yourself. It's those little moments of joy that remind us of the beauty in everyday life.

I'll start: A few of you know this, but At a Widow's BBQ social, I mistook hand sanitizer for Water. LOL. Talk about a cleansing experience.

Your turn! What's your Fun Friday story? Let's sprinkle some positivity and laughter into our day.

"Hitting the Post-Holiday Wall? Here’s How to Rekindle Your 2024 Fire "

As we settle back into our routines after the holiday season, it's common to hit a wall of frustration and exhaustion. You might be wondering, "How am I already feeling worn out with my new resolutions and goals for 2024?" If this resonates with you, know that you're not alone.

Think about it – it’s similar to those enthusiastic gym-goers in January, many of whom start to feel the strain and consider stepping back. It's a natural cycle, but here’s the good news: You can overcome this and reignite that fiery hope and ambition you started the year with!

If you're feeling this post-holiday slump, let's turn that around with some practical, empowering steps. Here are 10 strategies to rekindle your motivation and keep you moving forward with resilience and hope:

1. Micro-Adventures: Turn mundane tasks into mini-adventures. For example, if your goal is fitness, try a new sport or a hiking trail you've never explored.

2. Random Acts of Service: Boost your mood by helping others. Whether it’s volunteering for a cause you're passionate about or simply helping a neighbor, service can be a powerful motivator.

3. Mindful Mornings: Start your day with a mindfulness ritual that's unconventional. Try ‘sensory breakfasts’ where you focus on the flavors, textures, and aromas of your morning meal to anchor yourself in the present moment.

4. Creative Visualization: Spend time visualizing your goals, but add a twist. Create a vision board with a collage of images, quotes, and items that represent your aspirations.

5. Digital Detox Challenges: Regularly disconnect from technology for a set period. Replace digital time with an activity that stimulates your creativity or relaxes your mind.

6. Nature Immersion: Make time for outdoor activities that aren't just about exercise. Think forest bathing, star gazing, or sunrise watching to connect with nature and rejuvenate.

7. Skill Swap: Exchange skills with a friend or colleague. It's a fun way to learn something new and keep your brain engaged and excited.

8. Reflection Journaling with a Twist: Instead of traditional journaling, try drawing or doodling your thoughts and feelings, tapping into a different part of your brain.

9. Mindful Listening Sessions: Engage in mindful listening, either to music, nature sounds, or even in conversations, focusing fully on the sounds and nuances.

10. Playtime for Adults: Incorporate play into your routine. This could be board games, improvisational acting, or any playful activity that brings joy and relieves stress.

Feeling curious to dive deeper into these strategies? Want to share your journey or hear how others are staying motivated? Let's open up the conversation! Comment below with your experiences, questions, or any additional tips you have.

Together, we can make 2024 a year of growth, resilience, and success. Let’s keep that fire burning bright!
