Henry “Harry” Rathke, 73, of Pueblo West, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026. Born in Florence, Colorado, Harry carried the values of his hometown throughout his life and remained devoted to the Colorado community he loved.

A man of quiet strength and unwavering devotion to his family, Harry will be remembered for the steady love, kindness, and reassurance he offered to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Harry lived a full and spirited life defined by curiosity, independence, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was an avid golfer and skilled pilot who found joy both on the green and in the open sky. A rancher at heart and a respected real estate broker, Harry believed in hard work and took pride in building a life rooted in integrity. He embraced adventure through archery, motocross, and Jeep trail driving, never losing his enthusiasm for exploration. At home, he enjoyed the simple pleasures — video games that kept his competitive spirit alive and a perfectly cooked steak shared with those he loved.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His children were the pride of his life, and nothing brought him greater happiness than watching them grow and succeed. Known for his resilience, gentle spirit, and caring heart, he brought comfort and stability to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the lives he touched.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janeice Rathke; his children, Amorine and Kerry Reed, Benjamin Rathke; his treasured grandchildren, Hayden Brooke Wade and Austin Lee Wade, who brought him immense pride and joy; and his sister, Susan Vliek, and her husband, Dan Vliek, along with extended family members and dear friends.

Harry’s life was a testament to dedication to family, quiet courage, and enduring love. Those who knew him will remember his steady nature, his warmth, and the meaningful connections he created throughout his life.

Service details will be announced at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made in Harry’s memory to Rocky Mountain ALS, supporting compassionate care and ongoing efforts to serve those affected by ALS.

**Though our hearts are heavy with loss, the love Harry gave and the life he built remain a lasting light — guiding his family forward, surrounding them always, and reminding us that those we love never truly leave us.**

Services will be Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 11 AM at the sunrise Church in Pueblo West Colorado. In lieu of flowers, his family request that donations be made in Harry's memory to Rocky Mountain ALS, supporting compassionate care and ongoing efforts to serve those affected by ALS.

He was always there to help when asked. Chris enjoyed riding his bike. He was always bringing little things home saying "I thought you might like this". He was thoughtful and had a good heart. He had a great sense of humor. Chris was working toward getting his life together.
We love you, Chris, and will miss you terribly.

One of the most loving and thoughtful gifts you can give your family is peace of mind.

Pre-planning and pre-paying for funeral or cremation services is not about dwelling on the difficult moments. It is about protecting the people you love from unnecessary stress, emotional strain, and unexpected financial decisions during one of the hardest times they will ever face. When your wishes are clearly planned in advance, your family is free to focus on what truly matters, honoring your life and supporting one another.

At Pueblo Cremation Company, we believe planning ahead should be both compassionate and affordable. We offer direct cremation services starting as low as $995, giving families a simple, dignified option without added pressure or surprise costs. Our experienced funeral directors take the time to listen, guide, and help you create a plan that reflects your wishes with care and respect.

We are here when you are ready.

Call us today to speak with one of our compassionate funeral directors about pre-planning.
