Hello,
As some of you know, I was injured in a car accident and have been searching for medical answers for over 2 years.
On 6/2/25 I saw a neurologist (Dr. Cheng) at the MGH facial pain center. I was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury from the accident. Many of my disabling symptoms, such as inability to turn head, move or talk quickly without creating nausea, dizziness, chronic head and neck pain, vision disruptions, brain fog, disorientation, memory issues, loss of sensation, sight and sound sensitivity, metal taste, are from the TBI. This diagnosis has explained many of my symptoms. However, it is a lot to come to terms with, and the late diagnosis is frustrating.
Over the past 2.9 months there have made strides, but I am still missing the one diagnosis for my throat pain. There were multiple injuries to my head and neck, with many symptoms, requiring multiple diagnoses, some rare. It has been extremely confusing. I’ve seen over 30 physicians. Many appointments are at least a 2 month wait. I cannot proceed with any further surgical treatment until that is diagnosed. This is the next and hopefully last step. My full diagnosis is slowly becoming clear, but new treatments and the possibility of any relief is on hold.
Thank you for all your donations. You all have saved me the past few months. If you have already donated, please don’t feel the need to donate again. I appreciate you so much. Instead, and if you are able, I would truly appreciate if you shared my Gofundme link with friends and on social media. Disability has yet to approve my case, but doctors have disabled me. The approval process could take 1-2 years. Once approved, I will be working with MassAbility to find a part time job that I may be able to physically handle. I also plan to pursue learning opportunities to change careers, as my brain will allow. Unfortunately, It’s physically impossible for me to work a full time job right now. Thank you so much for your love and support through this time.
