We started the 2025-2026 school year off with a partnership between residents and local schools. Finding ways to give back allows us to invest in future generations and pass on generational knowledge that builds bridges across the age gaps.

What an awesome way to get involved and give back. We can't wait to see what connections this year-long program brings.

We’re celebrating Kenny, a beloved junior server at Holiday Country Squire. Since joining the team at sixteen, Kenny has brought energy, kindness and a fun spirit to every shift.

When asked about his favorite part of the job, Kenny didn’t hesitate: “The residents – they are all so sweet.” One of his most meaningful memories was singing for them with his school choir last December.

"There’s a young man that’s going to succeed," shares Barb, a resident. "He’s already shown his love for others. The future needs more like him."

Kenny dreams of becoming a musician, learning piano, owning a home and traveling to Sicily. We’re so proud of him and can’t wait to see what he does next!

Cupid’s arrow struck Joan and Karl 69 years ago and it’s been love ever since! Recently, the happy couple celebrated their 67th anniversary at Holiday Essex House.

Joan worked for Karl’s dad before she and Karl met. One evening, Karl’s dad hosted a party and invited Joan. She arrived alone and needed a ride home – Karl offered, and as they now say, “We haven’t been apart since!”

Dolly, a chiweenie, has captured the hearts of residents and employees alike. But it's her person, Curtis, who makes sure she’s living her best life with plenty of walks, treats and affection.

We've heard this pup is known as the Princess of Country Squire.

What is the secret to living to 103?

"I don’t have any secret," laughs Marlin, an easy-going resident at Holiday Thornton Place who recently celebrated his birthday with a party in the community. "I just go along with whatever’s happening."

And that aligns with his advice for younger generations. He reminds us all to persevere, "do what has to be done and keep going."

A resident at Holiday Lone Oak, she is beloved and so celebrated by her fellow residents and the Lone Oak team.

"I think it's important to be positive every day," shares Marcia. And according to her, it's not hard to do in her community. "My favorite thing about living here is the friends I've made."

We were so blessed to have Peter cook from the Hysterical Society for the Titanic. The residents were very involved and interested in this amazing Lecture. Peter brought plenty of items about and from the Titanic for us to view including an official Life Jacket from the Titanic and pictures of four survivors.

Recently we have had many wonderful residents move in to our community. This afternoon was truly special as we had our New Resident Social, and they took turns telling us about themselves while enjoying Strawberry Short Cakes.

Our Residents had a wonderful time celebrating "Gorgeous Grandma Day" with a relaxing SPA afternoon being pampered from head to toe. The ladies enjoyed basking in the sunshine while having foot soaks afterwards having their nails polished provided by a wonderful manicurist Denise and Cheryl . The next station was enjoying the Face mask that might just have been the ladies favorite . Next they enjoyed under eye mask and lip patches. Healthy snacks and drinks were available and the ladies had parting gifts of sleep mask. Again, a special thank you to our volunteers and family member Kristin.

Our Whiskers and Wags was all about our four legged friends. It didn't matter if you were a dog or cat they all were invited for a photo op and to sample some treats and toys just for them. At times, it got a little noisy as the said hi to each other but, soon they were all friends and began to play with one another. The extras will be donated to our local animal shelter!!!

What can i say about our "Asia of Majesty Event" except it was amazing and very enjoyable for our residents. The entertainment was provided by 'Asian Pacific Cultural Center Dancer" from Thailand. Authentic instruments were played while the dances performed special dances from their country. Their costumes were very beautiful and authentic. Chef and his team treated us to some great Asian food. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed learning about Thailand Culture. Center".

Mother's Day was a hit here at Holiday South Hill. Chef Jordan and his assistant Aubrey, served a wonderful Chicken Piccata, Angel Hair Pasta and Asparagus our lovely ladies were gifted with carnations and after their meal the ladies were treated to washable Tattoos. What a fun afternoon!!!
