We got spooky with our Halloween arts and crafts programs this month. From pumpkins to ghosts, we whipped up some somewhat scary, mostly cute projects to channel our inner ghouls and goblins! 👻🎃

They're always baking up a yummy treat at Atria Anchor Pointe!

This time, they whipped up some beautiful lavender lemon shortbread.

We can only imagine how good the halls of the community smelled when the cookies came out of the oven.

Residents at Holiday Maple Downs enjoyed a beautiful day on a mile cruise down the Erie Canal. "My dad had such a great time," shares Lisa, the daughter of one of the residents. "He can't stop talking about it!"

After taking in the scenic views, they had a picnic lunch together and talked about all they saw. "Dad was so happy he went," Lisa adds. "He couldn't believe all he learned!!

Holiday Edgewood Downs is honored to have residents like John and Rod – two proud World War II veterans whose stories remind us of the resilience and sacrifice of their generation.

Rod, a 101-year-old Air Force veteran, served as an aircraft welder, repairing planes. John, a 100-year-old Marine veteran, trained in San Diego and served in Saipan.

Today, these remarkable men call Edgewood Downs home, where their friendship and 200+ years of wisdom continue to inspire us all.

Residents of Holiday Manor at Oakridge took a trip back to Pennsylvania's past, visiting the Fort Hunter Mansion and Park. The beautiful site served as a war fort, a hub for frontier commerce and a private estate.

"It was beautiful weather, and we had a wonderful time," shares Beth, the community's Engage Life Director.

We love seeing residents explore the history in their own backyard.

Did you know October is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of Polish Americans in culture, science, art and more?

Our Taste Poland event featured classic Central European flavors, including pierogies with caramelized onions, kielbasa with cucumber salad, potatoes and sauerkraut, and sernik, traditional Polish cheesecake.

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!

From writing music to combat bullying in schools to clowning around the world, Mo has always found ways to bring people together – and that hasn’t stopped since moving to Holiday Hidden Lakes.

Mo leads twice-monthly music sessions during the community's ice cream socials, sharing her love of guitar, banjo and percussion with neighbors and friends. She also volunteers with her grandson and fellow residents at the local food share, showing that giving back and spreading joy is possible in every season of life.

We’re so grateful to have Mo, a true bringer of joy, as part of our Holiday by Atria family!

Holiday Country Squire recently celebrated Moses' 75th birthday. From childhood days of baseball to a lifelong passion for working on cars and trucks and raising three children, Moses has built a life full of joy.

One of his proudest milestones is his 15 years of sobriety – a testament to his strength. Moses inspires his community daily with his faith and positivity.

We are grateful for the warmth and joy residents bring to our communities. Our Canadian communities celebrated Thanksgiving with a delicious meal and by reflecting on the many things for which we are thankful.

Books are better when shared with friends! 📚

Our Page Turners Social Series event was a hit, bringing our resident bookworms together for a mystery book swap, getting in touch with their local public libraries and bookstores, and sharing in some delicious snacks.

Meow! 😻

Meet Stanley and her feline friend Nick, who live at Holiday Hartland Hills. Nick is a 4-year-old Siamese cat. Stanley rescued him from a local humane society 3 years ago. "He's very affectionate and loves to be held," shares Stanley.

We know that pets can make the best of friends, and love learning about our four-legged residents and their owners.

Chanthy has worked at Holiday since August 2024. When asked what the best thing working here she says it's the relationships she has built with the Residents. When Chanthy isn't cleaning cottages she can be found helping out a Resident or staff member. Congratulations Chanthy!!

Over the last few months we have been very fortunate to have some wonderful new residents pick Holiday at South Hill to be their new home. Today during our monthly New Resident Social they shared a little about themselves and we really got to know one another. The Ambassadors were there and new most of them by their names they to have really gotten to know one another in such a short time. Afterwards we enjoyed Strawberry Shortcakes and good conversation!!!

The Folks from Bethany Baptist Church came today to assist our residents in getting to know their smartphones and tablets . We had a wonderful turn-out and the residents really enjoyed making connections with the community.

I would like to introduce Karen an Ambassador who has lived here for two years. When asked what she likes about living here she says it's the friends she has made and making connections with the new residents. Karen can be found has been here for two years at Holiday. When asked what she likes about living here she says it's the valuable connections she has made. When not being an Ambassador she can be found setting up for parties, giving birthday cards out and saying prayers with the residents who need it. Thank you for all you do Karen!!

I would like to introduce you to one of our wonderful Ambassadors here at Holiday. Barbara has lived here almost a year. When asked what she likes about living at Holiday she says it's all the friends she has made and with a big smile she says no cooking and cleaning!! When Barbara isn't meeting the new residents she can be found helping with the Ice Cream or doing her favorite activity.

Bob has been a resident at Holiday almost six months. He can often be seen taking pictures for our large events. Bob has been photographing Pacific North back roads for close to 50 years. He has been taking pictures of rustic barns, homesteads, and vehicles and other landscape "memorabilila" that is fast disappearing. Bob also has been a collector of classic cameras that relate to WW11 and, soon he will be showing us some as his treasured photos and cameras looking forward to that.

Our wonderful crafters here at Holiday enjoyed doing their first of many fall craft projects. This week They made Decoupage Pumpkins using fall theme napkins of their choice. Next week will have another fun craft project.

We had our August Luau and it was a perfect sunny day. We had Hawaiian Mocktails and the residents enjoyed their Watermelon. The Entertainer performed a Tropical Show and featured songs from the South Pacific.

We were so blessed to have Peter cook from the Hysterical Society for the Titanic. The residents were very involved and interested in this amazing Lecture. Peter brought plenty of items about and from the Titanic for us to view including an official Life Jacket from the Titanic and pictures of four survivors.

Recently we have had many wonderful residents move in to our community. This afternoon was truly special as we had our New Resident Social, and they took turns telling us about themselves while enjoying Strawberry Short Cakes.
