After 10 months of effort I think I finally found the perfect meal plan for myself. Holy crap do I have to eat a lot of food! On average I have to eat 3,000 calories/day which is really hard when you're eating healthy food.

I'm super active all day between running around with my pup and training so I have to constantly feed my body easy to digest fuel to keep me going (healthy sugar).

I love this meal plan because it has all the vitamins and minerals my body needs, keeps me incredibly hydrated and has all of my immune boosts to keep my Ebstein-Barr under control.

Holy crap it's exhausting to consume this much constantly. But I feel amazing so I know this is a keeper. At first I was just doing this during the week but it's so addicting that I've really kept it up on the weekends now too.

After doing and feeling this I really see how far off track we are about what to eat to lose weight. It's not about deprivation, it's about filling your body with all of the vitamins and minerals it needs from NATURAL sources. Off to eat 😉

*No pitbulls were harmed in the making of this video but I did have to bribe her with a treat.*

So this is my why.

I've always been an athlete so I've honestly never worked out for aesthetic reasons which is I'm sure why I've had success.

I've always had to be strong because I've always loved living a very highly active life and strength is your way into no limitations.

So stormy has been equally as hyper as me her whole life. So hyper that she had torn both of her ACL's by the time she was 6 months, which got me in the habit of scooping her up. That and the fact shes the smallest dog I've ever owned so she's very much a lap dog to me. I still try to pick her up and down off the couch, etc. because I know her knees are going to act up when she gets older. More reason why I have to stay strong so my knees don't act up when I get older!

And by the way the whole reason behind functional training is to prepare you for every day activities. Don't avoid functional training because your joints hurt. Your joints hurt because you don't functionally train.... you just need the right muscles and really good form!

So my other favorite night time treat these days is grapefruit.

I picked night time because it does take a hot minute to chop up and eat so during the day would be unrealistic.

But night time has worked well because it gets me a treat without going to the super high calorie baked goods, etc. that we typically gravitate towards after dinner.

It's amazing how great I feel after eating one. Check out the nutritional benefits and you'll understand why. Sounds like they're such a powerful natural statin that you can't even consume them on statin medications... that's impressive.

But even better it's truly filling.

Basically fruits and vegetables send a signal to your brain that you are full thanks to the high fiber, vitamin and water content that processed and junk food won't.

Over time switching your junk food to yummy fruits will save you thousands upon thousands of calories and still be much lower in carbs. And this way you aren't depriving yourself, just switching to healthier options!

And fruit is freaking delicious!

P.S.- If you struggle with citrus and/or acid pair with celery juice in the am!

I've had sleep problems for years. Not because I'm not exhausted, just because it's really hard for me to shut my brain off. But it turns out that good sleep is like really important to your health... wish I had known thay through my 20's 🤦‍♀️

One of the biggest game changers for me this year has been my night cap...

Ashwaghanda Tea with Melatonin and Gaba (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid).

Those are liquid supplements I put directly into my tea that help lower anxiety and calm your nervous system.

I know there's a lot of contradicting info on melatonin which is why I didn't start taking it until this year.

After almost a year I can say it absolutely helps BUT only when my adrenals are at a healthy level and my brain isn't doing U-Turns all night. Even when it doesn't feel like it's helping it really is because my bad night's are still way better than they used to be and my sleep cycle is creeping dangerously close to normal. 🙌

A few more month's of this plus meditation and I might be able to sleep as well as Stormy!

I hear a lot about "accepting ourselves."

But I'm so glad I don't accept myself for who I am because that's what makes me strive to be the person I want to be.

Where acceptance comes for me is when I relapse into my old habits like I've been doing the last few weeks.

January for personal trainers is always pretty busy and my adrenals have definitely been feeling it. The big problem with that is it then activates my Ebstein-Barr which is not exactly easy to calm down... again.

Honestly I didn't get mad at myself because I can say in the last 9 months I've done everything I can to get better and I've still had probably 4 relapses.

But those relapses are important because that's how I learn more about the what, when, why and how of my health issues. And each relapse gets a little less severe and much shorter because now I can catch it before it even really happens.

It's not a sprint, it's a very long marathon so you better enjoy the ride 🧘‍♀️🛌🥦❤

Perfect little pre-workout snack or running around with your head chopped off treat!

Just blend 1-1.5 frozen bananas, 2 pitted medjool dates and about 10 oz of coconut water.

I tear apart the dates first and then blend them so they're delicious little gummie treats inside my banana milkshake!

Drink out of a slightly larger straw so they don't get stuck.

I stole this from . He says bananas and apples are actually one of the greatest snacks for your liver and I must say I feel so much better now that I'm sneaking one of those in every few hours.

Drinking a few smoothies a day also gives me an energy boost because I think a lot of our exhaustion problems just simply come from dehydration. Which ironically caffeine makes worse...

My wonderful husband leaves me at least one of these notes every single week. I love them all so much I think I've kept every one.

I could care less what he does on Valentine's Day, he's treated me like a princess (and equal😉) every.single.day.

For the past 9 months I've been focusing on letting my body heal for the crazy 10+ years of non-stop going that led to adrenal fatigue.

I accepted at the beginning that I would have to redefine myself. Part of that was switching to a much lower intensity form of exercise (which basically means I let myself breathe now.)

About once every 3 or 4 weeks I hit a point where I say "F*** it" and I treat myself to a much more modest form of high intensity exercise. OMG I miss that wonderful superhuman high that you get from an awesome workout. I still only let myself use a fraction of the weights I used to use but it feels so freaking good. Now I have to wait another 3 or so weeks but I'll do a much as possible until then.

We will meet again High Intensity Execise, ASAP, I promise.

Super yummy and great to hit your protein requirements.

Turkey Chili:

Throw all of these ingredients in the instapot (35-45 min) or crock pot (2-3 hrs)

1 lb Ground Turkey (cooked)
32 oz can Tomato Sauce
3 cans of beans your choice (I use chili beans, kidney beans and pinto beans)
Chopped Onion and Orange Pepper
Canned Diced Chili's and Jalapenos
~TBSP of Cumin, Paprika, Garlic, Chili Powder, Cayenne Pepper

Top with a little sour cream and green onions and you have a perfectly filling lunch or dinner!

I think protein gets a little too much attention as a weight loss plan, I honestly use protein as a way to slow down my metabolism which I very much need. I've gone back and forth with being a vegan for years now but I have decided I'm healthier eating a small amount of meat.

A good equation to use to find out how much protein you should be eating is:
36 grams (of protein) × your weight (in pounds)=

How much protein you should be consuming each day.

Immune Boost Smoothie!!

1 cup all natural orange juice
I cup of berries
1/4 cup of banana
Little bit of almond milk
Tsp Beet powder
Tsp Dragon fruit powder
Tsp Tumeric

I do this and the green smoothie at least 5 days/week.

This does have a lot of fruit but I don't do a whole lot of carbs other than fruit.

For awhile I couldn't handle orange juice or anything acidic (except for wine and coffee miraculously) but since i started the ridiculous amount of greens (esp celery juice) I've had no problem.

This is also an awesome boost of energy for me around 3 pm when the day is winding down.

And of course notice stormy in the background like why are you taking a picture of yourself?!
