My name is Anna and I am an RN and IBCLC. Before becoming an IBCLC, I worked as an RN in pediatrics and the NICU. In the NICU I fell in love with helping postpartum mamas and babies adjust to and navigate the NICU. It was such a privilege to be able to care for the tiniest babies in their first days, weeks, and months of life.
After I had my first little one, I struggled with breastfeeding for about 2 months before I reached out to an IBCLC. I am so thankful that I was able to get help with my breastfeeding journey. I have benefited from the help of an IBCLC with my second baby as well and, through becoming a mom and breastfeeding my own babies, I have developed a passion for educating and being a resource for mothers and babies during the postpartum period. I feel so blessed that I get to do something that I love and look forward to supporting more moms and their little ones.

My husband and I have two kiddos and love spending much of our time outside. Camping and hiking are some of our favorite things to do as a family.

Meet Natalie! She’ll be joining me at consults as she gets her hours to become an IBCLC. The pathway that she is completing requires 500 supervised hours with an IBCLC, along with 90 hours of online learning too. I’m excited for both of us on this journey! 💜Let’s do this!!

Hi there! My name is Natalie. I am a mom of four and I have been a registered nurse for over 15 years! My nursing background includes multiple specialties, including cardiology, postpartum and surgery. I became extremely passionate about breastfeeding after the birth of my children. I deeply wanted to breastfeed, but each of our journeys were met with different challenges. I ended up exclusively pumping for my first two, which for me, came with its own grief. With education and support I was able to successfully breastfeed my third and fourth child well into toddlerhood. I am so excited to be on this journey to becoming a lactation consultant and I cannot wait to help support breastfeeding families in their own unique journeys.

Here is Maura’s story:
So to make being away from my baby for 12 hours of work in the hospital, I try to feed as close to leaving the house as possible since he’s the best pump! I leave at 6:30 pm so I try to start feeding him at 6. Then I try to pump in 4-5hour increments, if my patient load allows! So I pump between 10 and 11pm and 2-3am. I don’t pump past 4 am so I can be full enough to feed my baby for his morning feed when I get home! Being full in the morning saves me a pump at work but also is one less bottle of frozen milk I need to thaw! Pumping twice at work gives be the perfect amount of milk that my baby needs over night! One bed time feed and one middle of the night feed!

Also I swear the inserts I shared with you have saved my breastfeeding journey! They are amazing! I was never able to get adequate milk out my first baby with pumping, which ultimately killed my supply since I worked 3 nights a week! Even people who don’t have issues pumping should get them! So much more comfortable!

Thanks for sharing your pumping at work journey!

It’s World Breastfeeding Week!

Repost from

I thought that some of you may need to hear a breastfeeding story of insecurity, of shame, of struggle that turned into confidence, empowerment and success.

You might see me now tandem feeding my girls like it’s nothing. I’ve nursed them right after birth soaking in the time in the birth tub. I’ve nurse them while wearing them during visits. I’ve nursed them in public restaurants, on sandy beaches, walking up and down the isles of an airplane, anywhere and everywhere with complete and total confidence.

It wasn’t always like this. Awareness weeks like this that encourage and promote the beauty of breastfeeding and normalize it so that women can celebrate what a gift it is that we can nourish are babies in this way.

17 years ago when I first became a breastfeeding mother I had no support. I was hesitant to nurse in public because of fear. I hid behind blankets, in the back seat of my car, in dressing rooms, in bathrooms, in closets, I’ve even pumped at work (in a hospital) in supply closets, anywhere but out in the open feeding my babies. It's one thing I wish I would have done differently. And I would have never snapped a picture to capture these precious moments.

I felt intense pressure to not nurse our babies beyond a year. Tandem feeding was not encouraged from anyone. And I made a lot of decisions about weaning them based solely on the opinions of others. And I’ve lived with that regret for years.

So almost 5 years ago, welcoming Delaney, things shifted to what instinctively felt right for me, for us. And we’re still right here. Cheers to you breastfeeding mamas you’re incredible! 🤍

Currently pumping at work as we speak. I work in a male driven industry but they’ve been very supportive and the job site I work at has mothers rooms. I started with 3x/work day but that was hard to maintain. Now I’m down to 2x and able to keep up with what my son needs.

thank you for sharing your story!

📌Did you feel supported while you pumped at work?
