These are gluten-free & paleo thanks to almond flour, which has a lower glycemic index than other flours. This means that it doesn’t have as large of an effect on spiking your blood sugar level!

this heat has me craving cold & refreshing salads, & this spicy, sweet, crunchy, creamy Thai peanut salad has been hitting👏🏼the👏🏼spot👏🏼!

It’s high in fiber from fresh veggies and low carb thanks to folate-packed heart of palm “pasta”, made out of artichokes (zucchini noodles would also work here!).
The sweet & spicy peanut dressing gives this salad a boost of heart-healthy fats and provides so much flavor that will make you want seconds😋
Adding chicken, shrimp, tofu, or edamame (optional) is a great way to make this salad more filling💪🏼

bars, shakes, & yogurts are great ways to hit your protein goals on the go!

unfortunately, a lot of what is sold in supermarkets is filled with artificial flavors, preservatives, fillers, & artificial sweeteners that have been linked to stomach issues, weight gain, obesity, and other chronic conditions😬 barebells protein bars literally have a disclaimer on their wrapper that consumption may cause a laxative effect. If that’s not motivation to read your ingredient labels, I don’t know what is!

check out my favorite swaps for protein bars, nutrition shakes, & greek yogurt. My options are much healthier because they aren’t loaded with so much artificial crap that can wreak havoc on your internal health and may make it harder to reach your weight loss goals.

weekend recap!

this weekend I ran my longest (and fastest) race since my total ACL reconstruction. After starting my speed & strength work from scratch 2.5 years ago, it felt SO good to run an average pace of 8:12 in my hometown of Queens, NY🥰

I started training for distance running again in November 2022 and was running 10 minute miles. Now we’re down to the low 8s! Being consistent with my nutrition, hydration, and training is paying off💪🏼

Sometimes, low carb/low calorie is NOT the answer to weight loss!

summer BBQ season is upon us!!

but unfortunately, big food companies that make some of foods we love to eat at BBQs load them up with preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, ultra-processed oils, & natural and artificial flavors that can mess with our internal health by causing inflammation, hormonal disruption, and more🤦‍♀️ some ingredients have even been classified as likely carcinogenic.
these ingredients absolutely are NOT necessary for flavor, but are added to increase shelf-life and produce them for a cheaper cost.

you can still enjoy all your BBQ favorites by buying them from better-for-you brands. Check out my recommendations and add them to your grocery list in preparation for your next summer get-together with friends or family!

yep - I absolutely LOVE what I do!🥰

In just over a month, Amelia has lost 3% body fat and has increased her muscle mass by learning sustainable nutrition strategies that she can continue to implement for the rest of her life!💪🏼 She did this while still enjoying nights out, holidays, & ice cream with her sister - because a nutrition plan that doesn’t allow room for what you love is not one that will ever work!
