Jessica thought it was just another lump. She had faced this before, so she didn’t worry. This time, however, it was different. She was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer.

Through it all, she has leaned on her care team at QMG and stayed grounded in everyday life. Working from home, spending time with her kids, and holding on to the routines that remind her what she is fighting for have made all the difference.

When you ask Charity B. what fills her cup as a Medical Assistant, she talks about people.

She shared, “I became an MA to advocate for people when they are most vulnerable. To me, being an MA is more than caring for you — it’s about seeing you for who you are. My favorite part of patient care is meeting new patients, calling them by name and getting to know them beyond what they come in for.”

Charity’s words capture what so many of our Medical Assistants bring to their work. As we close out Medical Assistants’ Week, we say thank you! We’re grateful for our incredible team, this week and every week.♥️

Heather A. didn’t begin her career at QMG as a Medical Assistant, but it didn’t take long for her to realize that was where she was meant to be. She shared, “My favorite part of patient care, and one of the reasons I became an MA, is getting to know our patients and caring for them throughout their journey.”

Heather works alongside Dr. Wajeeha Rizvi, who shared, "If you want to see hard work, efficiency, compassion, and dedication in action, look no further than my medical assistant, Heather. In my practice, it’s practically tradition that whenever we encounter a challenge, we say, ‘Where’s Heather? She will find a way to do her magic.’"

She added, "I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had Heather on my team from the very beginning. Her professionalism, commitment, and positivity make her an invaluable part of our oncology practice. Beyond her exceptional work, I’m grateful to call her a friend.”

Thank you, Heather, for all you do! ♥️
