From X-rays and ultrasounds to CTs, MRIs, and beyond — our imaging professionals play a vital role in patient care. 🩻

They combine technology, anatomy, and precision to help providers see what’s happening inside the body — often being the first to capture the clues that guide diagnosis and treatment.

In hospice, every act of kindness becomes a bridge — connecting hearts, easing burdens, and reminding us what it truly means to care.💙

Our volunteers don’t just give their time; they give presence, compassion, and love in moments that matter most. They sit beside patients, listen to stories, offer comfort, and create peace — one visit, one conversation, one gentle smile at a time.
And while their goal is to touch the lives of others, they often find that their own hearts are changed in ways they never expected. ✨

Join us in making those meaningful connections. Learn more about our hospice program or explore volunteer opportunities here: https://www.blessinghealth.org/volunteer

We’re always grateful for more helping hands — and hearts — to walk alongside us. 🤝

158 years to the day💙

Quincy loves its history and a major accomplishment in the Tri-State's past was recognized Saturday, October 25, exactly 158 years from the day that St. Mary Hospital opened its first permanent building, a four story, 50-bed structure at Broadway and 14th Street.

To mark the occasion, the Adams County Bicentennial Committee, in coordination with former St. Mary Hospital employees, Blessing Health System representatives, and members of the public gathered to dedicate a plaque on Vermont Street between 14th and 16th Streets, commemorating St. Mary's impact on the people of the Quincy community and the region.

The plaque reads, in part: "St. Mary Hospital, under the guidance of the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, served the area from 1866 to April 1, 1993, when it merged with neighboring Blessing Hospital.
Throughout its existence, St. Mary Hospital followed the principal of 'Finding Better Ways to Serve!

In 2025, Blessing Hospital continues to serve the community while honoring the shared mission with St. Mary Hospital of compassion, caring and collaboration."

Get to know Blessing

The roots of Blessing Health System run deep through Quincy and the region. It all started nearly 150 years ago when a 19-room hospital, built on donations of land and money, opened to serve the poor. Its name was Blessing Hospital.

Fast forward to today. Blessing Health System is made up of several specialized entities that improve the health of communities on both sides of the river. They include the Quincy-based multi-specialty provider group Blessing Physician Services and the northeast Missouri-based multi-specialty provider group Hannibal Clinic. Together, 200 providers serve the needs of patients in Quincy and throughout the region.

In Pike County Illinois and its surrounding communities, Illini Community Hospital is a well known and respected health system member.

The system also includes Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, as well as Denman Services, an important source of health care equipment and services for the region’s residents and providers.
