Another December pattern release happened while I was sick in bed; The Beckett Beanie by and best of all - it’s free! Check it out along with a few other gems on the blog.

Made with bulky yarn, this double brim beanie is a quick and easy make. It’s a great unisex beanie, and seriously looks great on everyone! Did I mention that it’s FREE? What’s not to love?

As promised, a few more photos from our holiday Spain trip. Christmas was spent in Barcelona, and seeing ALL the Gaudi works and wow! So much to see! The Sagrada Familia was my favorite and I’m not normally a “visit a cathedral” kinda girl. It’s still under construction today, after 140 years! Truly a work of art and a must see!

We attended a symphony at the beautiful Palau de la Musica Catana, and had a day trip to the mountain town of Monserratt with a wine tasting in the wine cellar and tasted wines directly from the barrel. Hubby made a new friend at a lovely whiskey bar near our hotel, and he made me a lovely whiskey pear cocktail! I love Christmas lights and Barcelona truly delivered on some fantastic holiday lights!

It rained a lot in Barcelona which altered our plans some, plus I was still recovering from my second illness those first few days. Regardless, we had a wonderful time and it just means we need to go back!

Happy New Year! 🎆

It was a whirlwind end to 2025; getting sick back to back before Christmas; then travel; I am VERY behind on posting and super late in introducing:

The Main Character Scarf from . The pattern is an easy, meditative repeat; great for using up those minis in your stash abs great for beginners as well. Check out the other testers amazing versions for inspiration and Go grab your copy!

Hubby and I just returned from our annual holiday travels, this year to Spain! We visited Barcelona for Christmas to take in all of Gaudi’s masterpieces, as well as explore the beautiful town. It rained a lot which did alter some of our plans, but we enjoyed a Christmas Day symphony of the Nutcracker music at the BEAUTIFUL concert hall, and a day trip to Monserratt with a private wine tasting.

Next was Madrid for New Years Eve! We started with a food tour to help acclimate and met some wonderful people, and then visited all the sites and explored the town. New Years Eve was spent with the locals at a restaurant for an 11 course, 4 hour dinner, complete with New Years countdown, Cava and of course eating the 12 grapes!

Lastly, was Seville, my favorite! Seville was smaller and packed with holiday festiveness and Christmas lights EVERYWHERE! It’s a beautiful, walkable little town with so much to see! We visited all the sites, explored and ate our way through this amazing little town! A private day trip to Ronda and the white villages of Zahara and Grazalema rounded out an amazing time!

We headed Back to Barcelona for one last night before flying home yesterday, tired but full of amazing memories and many photos! Had a tough time narrowing down the photos so expect to see more in the coming days!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! 🎄🎶

Remember those Christmas Stockings I was working on a few months ago? They’re done and proudly hanging their new home!

They were a labor of love; I only hope they are loved in return as they hang on the mantle each year! And one will be traveling to Germany to live out the rest of its days as a souvenir of a year spent in the US as part of this sweet family!

I’m so pleased with how these turned out! Maybe someday I’ll make some for me!

Meet the Codex Cowl from .loops 🎉

This beauty is finally here! I’m not usually a big cowl person but this design caught my eye and makes me think designer handbag. So of course I had to test it! As a collab with , I dug into my stash to find this gorgeous OOAK variegate, and then paired it with this beauty of a red for the most perfect color combo! While the cowl is designed to swap the main and contrast colors on the second side, I chose not to swap them to keep the consistent look throughout and I’m not mad about it - I love it!

As with many of Jen’s patterns, there’s not just one! This design is available in both DK and Fi*****ng weights. Mine is DK; but I’m sure it’s just as dreamy in fi*****ng weight! And of couse, there’s a little sale for release weekend - go check out .loops page for the details!

It’s here! 🎉 Chameleon - the Goes With Anything Scarf from 🎉

This skinny scarf was so fun to make and it truly does go with anything! She takes just one skein of fi*****ng weight yarn, and uses a stitch pattern that is lovely to work. She’s easily customizable to make a longer or shorter version. What’s not to love???

I made my version longer to use the entire skein and give extra length to wrap when needed. I also chose this gorgeous yarn with the dark blue so it would go with a jean jacket or pair of dark jeans or just about anything as the name suggests! The pattern is on sale for the release weekend so go grab your copy today!

How is only Wednesday??? How is it already Wednesday??? Both things can be true….

It’s been a weird, rainy and dreary week so far! In my attempts to procrastinate other projects, I started this Aspiration Shawl for me to work on in between projects and *accidentally* finished it in 5 days! It was a great mindless project, one good for some netflix and not having to think. Plus, it turned out amazing and I can’t wait to wear it!

I had two very productive days on Monday and Tuesday and now today, I’m struggling to motivate and be productive. But I must. So off to my to-do list I go!

Happy Monday! 🎉

Here’s a little sneak peek of the Niamh Sweater Scarf, one of my recently completed tests. I had a beautiful day last week to get some photos and I am super happy with how it turned out, and cannot wait for the full reveal and release of this amazing pattern! Stay tuned!

We had a really nice weekend over here and the weather is beautiful again today, though a little chilly and windy. No complaints here though - I’m so over the heat so I’ll take it! Fall is my favorite!

Happy Dreary Saturday! 🎉

It’s dark and dreary here in the NC today, making it difficult to motivate myself to do anything but work on some crochet cables. This amazing project is proof that you can achieve amazing cables with crochet too, it’s not just for knitters!

This beauty is the Niamh Sweater Scarf from that is currently in testing. I had been wanting to make a sweater scarf for awhile but just didn’t love any of the ones I saw out there… yet. Then this beauty popped into my inbox for a chance to test it - YES PLEASE!!! I’m so excited to jump back into testing for this amazing sweater scarf! Stay tuned to see the finished piece very soon!

I have to give a big shout out to our amazing yarn community who made this Colorway possible! I really wanted to use this amazing Mouse Grey from but I was about 1 skein short, and then learned that it was a discontinued colorway! 😩 Two amazing yarn lovers on Ravelry saved the day and sold their leftover Mouse Gray yarn to me so I could use the color I wanted. Ironically, I was able to return the favor to another crafter earlier this week. Much love to this big yarn loving community and hope we all keep helping each other out!

It’s been awhile. But I’m still here crocheting away! Found this gem that I’d never posted. The Adira Shawl from , a one yarn cake wonder!

This little beginner friendly shawl is a great for those large yarn cakes. I made mine in Hobbii Twister yarn and it’s such a light and lacy neutral shawl.

We started a small reno of the Atl condo today. I’m still a little nervous after our Raleigh reno a few years ago that was full of drama! This PM seems on the ball with lots of attention to detail; but I’m still nervous! 🫣 We will leave them to work while we are gone and *hopefully* come back to completed work! Stay tuned….

WIP Wednesday! Christmas in September edition! 🎄🧶

At the beginning of the summer, a friend reached out asking for custom Christmas Stockings for her family. Since she gave me plenty of time, I happily agreed! I didn’t quite expect the non-traditional colors which proved a challenge to get the perfect mix of colors in the right shades…. But I think we did it!

The next challenge was the pattern. I made a test version and truth be told, it was awful!!! Even hubby commented that it was incredibly awful! I didn’t even share it with her, it was soo bad! 🫣 So I had to pivot. What does that mean? It means I couldn’t use one pattern but had to piece together parts of several patterns and even design a few sections myself. I went back to the inspo photo to help me with color placement and…. I think I nailed the pattern on the second try! But, wait…. There’s more! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, there’s another “but!” This version T urned out HUGE!! Like waaaay too big, Huge! 🤦🏻‍♀️ So began the efforts to reduce each section by a few rows. I’m happy to report that attempt #3 was a success!!! So much so that I’ve got these babies on repeat this week and it’s so exciting to see them develop! Can’t wait to show the finished product…. Stay Tuned!

In the meantime, if you made it this far - are you Team Traditional Christmas Colors? Or Team Fresh, Bold Statement Colors? I’m leaving toward the latter after this project!!
