The Wellness Wheel is like your life’s compass. When one area is out of sync, everything else can feel off balance. Just like a tire with a flat spot, your journey gets bumpier when emotional health, social connections, or other key areas are neglected.

We all have evolving needs, but when our most basic ones, like safety, connection, and belonging, just aren’t met, it can hold us back from reaching higher goals like confidence, self-worth, and growth.

Medical News Today warns us that this kind of imbalance can trigger stress, isolation, and a drop in motivation. That is why, this week, take a step forward and ask yourself: Which part of your wellness wheel needs strengthening? What can you do to bring your journey back to a steady pace?

August is National Wellness Month! A time to look at the entire spectrum of well-being.

Medical News Today published an article highlighting the importance of overall wellness, and true wellness includes:
-Physical activity: engaging in regular physical activity can significantly reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, enhance your mood, and improve overall health.
-Emotional regulation: Developing emotional self-regulation skills is vital for mental well-being. It helps individuals manage stress, reduce impulsivity, and improve relationships.
-Restful sleep: Consistent, quality sleep is vital for mental health. It aids in emotional regulation, memory, and reduces the risk of mental health disorders.
-Connections with others: Strong social connections are associated with lower rates of anxiety and depression, higher self-esteem, and greater empathy.

What is one small wellness habit that you can commit to this week?

Today, July 24th is International Self-Care Day!

Today is all about YOU.

Take a moment to pause, breathe, and remember that your well-being matters. Not just today, but every single day. Whether it’s a quiet walk in nature, a spa day, a good book, or simply saying “no” to something that drains you. Do what brings you peace, joy, and restoration.

Self-care isn't selfish, it's an act of self-respect. So today, give yourself permission to unplug, recharge, and pour into yourself the same love and energy you so often give to others.

✨ Rest. Reflect. Reconnect. Rejoice. ✨
You deserve this. Not just today, but always.

We’re halfway through the year already!!!

How are you *really* doing? Have you stopped to reflect, to breathe, to celebrate your small wins? Mid-year check-ins can help reset your mental health goals and remind you that your progress isn’t always visible, but it is always valuable.

Did you know that regular mental health check-ins encourage reflection and foster self-awareness. GSP Health published an article highlighting the benefits of regular mental health check-ins. Connection helps individuals keep track of changes in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This proactive approach allows for early identification of potential issues and promotes overall well-being.

July is BIOPC Mental Health Month!

Justice, Healing, and Mental Health for all! 🙌

Mental health care must be more than accessible. It must be just, inclusive, and truly equitable. For BIPOC communities, that means confronting the deep roots of systemic injustice, breaking cycles of silence and stigma, and creating healing spaces that honor culture, identity, and lived experience.

The numbers tell us the clear and shocking truth: according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health, only 15% of Black adults receive mental health treatment, compared to 27% of White adults. The access is unequal. Support is lacking. And the impact is real.

This month, we shine a light on healing through visibility and the transformative power of community, culture, and connection. Because when voices are heard, when stories are shared, and when care reflects who we are, healing is not only possible, it’s unstoppable.

Nature is key to improving Mental Wellness!

Step into nature, step into strength! 💪

As the days grow longer and the evening light lingers, the world gently calls us outside, not just to witness nature’s beauty, but to rediscover ourselves within it. Even just 10 to 50 minutes in a natural setting can transform your day by lowering stress, lifting your mood, and sharpening your focus, according to recent research.

And the impact goes even deeper for children. The Health Policy Institute of Ohio reports that kids who spend more time in nature experience significantly stronger mental health, especially those from low-income families, where the need for peace and healing is often greatest.

Nature is more than just the outdoors. It's medicine. It’s a reset. So today, give yourself that gift and gently remind someone you care about to step outside, breathe deep, and reconnect.

This Pride Month, we honor and uplift LGBTQ+ voices, many of whom have faced stigma, rejection, and even isolation. Mental health is NOT one-size-fits-all. It is shaped by our personal identities and how society sees us.

In 2023, Vox published data that supports the statistic that 41% of LGBTQ+ high school students seriously considered attempting su***de, and 20% attempted su***de, significantly higher rates than their heterosexual and cisgender peers.

Let us work toward a world in which everyone can access affirming care, live openly, and be safe and celebrated for who they are!

June is Men's Mental Health month, so let's rise above the silence!

Too often, men are told to “tough it out,” as if silence were strength. But burying pain doesn’t make it vanish, it only deepens the wound. This Men’s Mental Health Month, we’re challenging outdated stereotypes and opening the door to honest, courageous conversations.

According to the CDC, men account for nearly 80% of su***de deaths in the United States, with an age adjusted su***de rate nearly four times higher than that of women. These numbers are not just statistics, they’re a call to action!

Mental health is human health. Asking for help is not a weakness. It’s a profound act of courage. Let’s create a safe space, where strength is defined not by silence, but by the willingness to speak up and seek support ✨️

June is PTSD Awareness Month! Let's break the silence!

Healing is possible, hope is real, and you are not alone!

In the United States, there are currently 12 million people suffering from PTSD. According to the U.S Department of Veteran Affairs, PTSD includes symptoms in 4 categories: "reliving or re-experiencing the event, avoiding things or places that remind you of the event, negative changes in beliefs and feelings, and hyperarousal or being on guard." It's normal to experience negative effects after a traumatic experience, but if you or a loved one experience symptoms from all of these categories lasting longer than a month or getting in the way of daily life, it may be signs of PTSD. If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available, recovery is possible! You are not alone 💖

To the women holding it all together — we see you.

Mental health struggles don’t always look like breakdowns. Sometimes they look like silent tears, sleepless nights, or pretending everything’s fine when it’s not. You don’t have to do it all. You don’t have to be everything to everyone.

It’s okay to pause. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to put yourself first.
Your mental health matters — not just today, but every day.
