We couldn't keep you waiting too long! Join us for the second group in queue for roll out in Wombat's fully revamped group program: Gender F*ckery!

Censorship is all around us, and we end up internalizing a lot of that. Led by our very own Micah Fahar, this group intends to provide a space to delve into and challenge externalized and internalized messages about gender, ultimately allowing a deeper connection with your own personal gender identity, expression, and understanding.

This group will take place on Wednesdays from 5 PM to 6:30 PM PST, so pop it into your calendars now. (CA residents only, like all our services!) We will announce the official start date once the first cohort has assembled.

It's that time! Wombat is rolling out groups again, fresh and ready for your sign up! First up we have Room For One More? -- a gayming group led by our very own Dr. Erik.

This group will take place on Thursdays from 6 PM to 7:30 PM PST. (CA residents only, like all our services!) We will announce the official start date soon with more details on the games we'll be playing together.

Keep your eyes peeled for our other upcoming groups--Gender F*ckery and Finding Safety in the Inferno 🔥, led by Micah Fahar and Aaron Menjivar-Vargas, respectively. More details on both soon to come.

You can join the waitlist for all three groups now via our usual intake form, even if you're an existing client. All groups are open for folks with insurance and are otherwise 40 bucks per session.

Join Wombat bright n early on July 12th for mindful gaming and authentic conversation. Protect Wombat Streamathon will be a 4-8 hour stream with the goal of fleshing out another community space and also raising some funds.

Dr. Erik will kick off the stream and close the stream. During the opening, Dr. E will give a gentle introduction, meditation, and other mindful goodies. In the final leg of the stream, Wombat will offer up their donation menu for some fun community interaction. Don't miss out on their juggling skills and let's see how long we can keep them on stream!

Increased attacks on our communities have had immediate, visible impacts across the board. Impacts on safety and security, humanity and belongingness, vital program funding and community spaces. The call to action is to be there for community while maintaining the delicate balance of caring for yourself. An empty glass can't refill a pitcher.

Ways to give back to your community:
✨ Check-in on your friends. This could mean a meme, call, visit, or hang out. It may seem irrelevant in the grander scheme of things, but these connections are the most important.
✨ Revitalize community aid. Aid goes beyond dollars--curate and catalogue resources, share them, offer to make that phone call or finish that chore. Show up and show out within your capacity.
✨ Boost the voices of those in your community putting in the work but not being heard as loudly as community influencers. The trans and BIPOC activists, the grassroots orgs, community spaces (cutiesla, theplantchica, lacuddleclub), and honestly places like Wombat (ICOW, Mi Centro, The Alexis Project).

Ways to give back to yourself:
✨ Take a pause.
✨ Ask yourself, how am I feeling? Have I hydrated? Have I eaten? What am I putting into my body? What am I sensing in my body? And what can I do about it?
✨ Set an intention for the day. Let yourself be in community, whether that's surrounded by your plants, your friends, or at a community event.

Wombat Mental Health Services LCSW PC is hiring! We are a two-spirit indigenous-led virtual practice operating outta California. We're looking for another fantastic personality to join our team of caring and culturally affirming clinicians.

Qualified applicants have a minimum of 500 hours of supervised experience as an registered associate MFT, CSW, or PCC and experience with one or more of our key populations. The full job description is available on our careers page.
