Years ago I was referred by an accountant to an estate planning attorney in Palm Springs. Met her and Paid $2500 and got a single piece of paper and she said "now take this to the bank, city, wherever you own anything and have them put your stuff in here"!!

Being confused by her I asked for explanation, "Don't worry they know what they're doing and what to do with this". Needless to say nothing was put in there until I got my "real one" from Palm Desert Law Group, APC. They took care of everything and all I did was sign the dotted line after we planned it.

Yes, She IS my wife but my experience is far more common than necessary or should be. And that kind of behavior is ONE of the reasons that lawyers' reputation competes with car sales men at the bottom of the barrel.

A lawyer can’t create a comprehensive estate plan and make a living if they only charge $500-$1,000 per estate plan. That means the plan they’re selling isn’t comprehensive enough to work 😯 or they’re rushing the process to get more clients through the door. 🚪 🏃
