April is Stress Awareness Month, which aims to raise awareness about the causes and cures of stress.
Because we’re in the business of cures, this is the perfect time to share the Pulsetto with you!
Literally! We invite you to pop in and try it!

The Pulsetto is a vegus nerve stimulator. The vagus nerve controls your parasympathetic nervous system (your rest, recover, digest) mode.

The vagus nerve extends from the brain stem all the way down to the colon and affects heart rate, digestion, respiratory rate, and reflex actions, like swallowing.

Its significance is truly in
maintaining homeostasis (a stable internal environment) and responding to stress.

VNS (vagus nerve stimulation), can alleviate symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, thus promoting relaxation, calm and improved sleep.

Stop by and try next time you’re here!
Stimulating it can:
- Shift you out of fight-or-flight
- Lower heart rate & stress hormones
- Increase HRV (recovery marker)
- Promote relaxation before sleep
-Decrease anxiety
-Improve your immune system

Welcome Spring!!

Spring calls us to clear out what has been dormant or still, and create space—physically, emotionally, and energetically.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Spring Guide:

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), spring is associated with the Wood element—a time of growth, movement, and renewal.

After winter, Yang energy begins to rise. This is the season of growth, or expansion, stretching toward what’s next.

The TCM spring focus is on renewing, detoxifying, and supporting the liver and gallbladder to ensure smooth Qi (energy) flow.

When this energy is flowing well, we feel:
• Clear-headed
• Creative
• Motivated
• Aligned with our direction

When Qi becomes stagnant, we may notice:
• Irritability or frustration
• Neck and shoulder tension
• Headaches
• Digestive shifts
• Feeling emotionally or mentally “stuck”

Supporting Your Body:

Keep Moving!
• Move your body gently & regularly (walking, & check out our classes)
• Stretch, yoga and twist—especially the sides of the body to open Liver + Gallbladder channels
• Spend time outdoors in nature
• Take a few minutes each day for slow, deep, intentional breathing-(remember our breathwork classes)
• Let the rib cage and belly fully expand
• Try longer exhales to support release of tension

Eat for the Season
• Choose lighter, fresh foods
• Leafy greens, sprouts, asparagus, broccoli, herbs, and sour flavors like lemon.
• Reduce heavy, greasy, fatty or overly processed foods to reduce the strain on the liver.

Support Emotional Flow
• Notice what’s been building beneath the surface, such as anger or irritability.
• Journal, speak, or gently express what needs to move to manage stress and support emotional flow.

Get acupuncture!!
