Mitsuo (or Mits) Tomita is a retired family practice physician. His career was at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego. He is a volunteer for Compassion and Choices, a national nonprofit that promotes end-of-life planning and choices, including a dementia directive and medical aid-in-dying

Dr Tomita (or Mits) will talk about lead poisoning.
It has been an ongoing problem as lead contributes to neurotoxicity.and cognitive decline

Congratulations to Dr. Glenn Panzer

The San Diego Dementia Consortium is proud to celebrate the outstanding contributions of Dr. Glenn Panzer, MD, the 2024 recipient of the Doris A. Howell, MD, Award for Advancing Palliative Care!

Dr. Panzer has been a pioneer in shaping palliative care across North County San Diego, advocating for ethical decision-making and improving the quality of care for individuals facing complex medical challenges. His leadership as Chief Medical Officer at The Elizabeth Hospice and his instrumental role in establishing the inpatient Palliative Care service at Palomar Health have left a lasting impact on our community.
