Rest & Recovery... What does that mean to you??
Rest is often labeled as lazy, or "doing nothing", but rest is productive. Rest is essential for balance. Rest (and Recovery) are part of the process. To perform well, heal, and live life, we cannot be at full throttle all the time. We cannot continuously work through pain, discomfort, injuries, depression etc, something (often many somethings) have to give. The body needs that balance and reset.
There are multiple ways /categories of rest:
Physical ~ naps, relaxing π΄β±οΈπΊ
Emotional ~ talking to friends, therapy π―ββοΈ
Creative ~ games, art, hobbies π¨π§Άπ
Mental ~ music, meditation πΆπ§πΌββοΈ
Sensory ~ sit in silence, no tech devices π΅π€«
Spiritual ~ journal, time in nature ππ²
Social ~ time alone / time with others balance π§πΌββοΈπ§βπ€βπ§π¬
Rest isn't passive, it is part of the process.
