Battle of the Brave 10 - The Final Battle

Two days. Countless lifts. One incredible community. 💪🔥

We were proud to sponsor Battle of the Brave 10: The Final Battle at Brave Enough CrossFit and support athletes all weekend long with our recovery tent on Friday and Saturday.

From soft tissue therapy and scraping to taping and hands-on recovery work, our team was there helping competitors stay moving, recover smarter, and keep showing up for every event.

This weekend was everything we love about the CrossFit community: grit, support, and people pushing themselves alongside teammates who have their backs.

Field Notes like this are our way of highlighting where we’re showing up, who we’re supporting, and how we’re helping athletes perform and recover at their best on and off the competition floor.

🚨 Meet the Team 🚨

Please help us welcome Aaron Martin, DPT to the F.I.T. Fam at our Shawnee location! 👋

Originally from Eagan, Minnesota, Aaron took an unconventional path into physical therapy by spending years competing in drum corps across the DCI, DCA, and WGI circuits before earning his degree in kinesiology from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Along the way, he also dove into Olympic lifting and powerlifting, blending movement, performance, and strength.

Aaron pursued physical therapy to combine his passion for kinesiology with a genuine desire to serve others. With a background in drum corps, personal training, and heavy lifting, he brings current, evidence-based practices to help patients move better, feel stronger, and achieve lasting results.

When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him lifting heavy at , golfing, checking out local breweries, or spending time with his wife, cats, and dog.

Huge thank you to The Living Room for hosting, our incredible FIT Ambassadors for leading the workouts, and everyone in the community who showed up to move, recover, and connect with us.

From intentional movement to hands-on soft tissue work and recovery, this event was a perfect example of what we’re all about - helping our community move better, feel better, and live Better Than Before.

Our Crossroads chiropractor, , is walking through 4 core-focused exercises designed to build stability, improve control, and reduce stress on the low back:

• Single-arm front rack marches
• Bird dogs with a kettlebell
• Heel taps with a yoga block

👋 Meet the Team: Ryan Macan

We’re excited to officially introduce Ryan Macan, the Clinic Director of our Blue Valley location!

Born and raised in Kansas City, Ryan’s passion for physical therapy started early by watching the life-changing care his brother received and feeling inspired by the impact PTs had on his journey. That experience shaped the patient-first provider and leader he is today.

A Rockhurst University graduate and KU alum, Ryan brings both heart and experience to the clinic. After 2 years with F.I.T., we’re proud to see him step into this leadership role and guide the Blue Valley team forward.

When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Ryan cheering on KU and the Chiefs, golfing, running, or spending time outdoors.

Bend & Brew (& a run too!) is coming 🍻🧘‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Join F.I.T. Muscle & Joint Clinic for Bend & Brew, a movement & happy hour experience at The Living Room on Saturday, January 17th.

We’re offering two ways to move before settling in to recover and connect:
✨ Yoga, led by FIT Ambassador
🏃 Group run, led by FIT Ambassador (weather permitting; 1–3 miles)

After movement, hang out for a relaxed happy hour with our F.I.T. provider team on-site offering light soft tissue work, guided stretching, and recovery support, plus plus plenty of time to connect and enjoy the vibes.
