Home Midwifery Services Homebirth Midwife, Doula, Childbirth Educator. Ann Kilroy has been a midwife attending home births in Eastern Mass for over twenty years.

She began her training in 1988, earning her certification to be a Childbirth Educator and Labor Assistant, then going on to meet the requirements of the Mass Midwives Alliance to be an Indepedent Primary Midwife in 1994. She added the CPM credential in 2000, after fulfilling the requirements of NARM, the North American Registry of Midwives. Ann is a past president of the Mass Midwives Alliance and has served on the Partners in Perinatal Health Committee. She is the mother of six children.

Home births in the United States are on the rise! While they still make up a small portion compared to hospital deliveries, the number of planned home births has soared by 60% over the past seven years, now nearing 2% of all births. In 2023, home births reached 46,918—the highest figure in three decades and a big jump from 29,592 in 2016. This trend was highlighted in a recent analysis published in the Journal of Perinatal Medicine.
