We advise our patients to adopt straightforward yet effective measures to safeguard their well-being: maintain frequent handwashing, stay properly hydrated, consume nutritious foods, and prioritize sufficient rest. These daily habits fortify the immune system and mitigate the transmission of illnesses. If you are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, or fatigue, please do not disregard them. Early assessment and suitable treatment can aid in preventing complications and shortening recovery time. We also recommend staying up-to-date on vaccinations, as they remain one of the most effective means of preventing serious illnesses.

We are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Today we wear red to stand with the American Heart Association and raise awareness for heart disease—the leading cause of death among women and men. Wearing red is more than a color choice; it’s a reminder to take care of our hearts, support heart health education, and honor those affected by heart disease.
Join us in spreading awareness, encouraging healthy habits, and showing support for stronger, healthier hearts in our community. Every step toward heart health matters.

Flu and COVID cases are increasing, and it is crucial to recognize the symptoms and implement preventive measures to safeguard yourself and others. Common symptoms may include fever or chills, cough, sore throat, congestion, body aches, headache, fatigue, nausea, or diarrhea. COVID symptoms may also encompass shortness of breath or loss of taste or smell. To maintain optimal health, wash your hands frequently, avoid close contact with individuals who are ill, cover coughs and sneezes, and clean frequently touched surfaces. Additionally, staying hydrated, consuming a balanced diet, obtaining sufficient rest, and bolstering your immune system can be beneficial. If you are experiencing illness, remain at home and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.

DURING JANUARY, MACON COMMUNITY HOSPITAL is offering FREE Thyroid (TSH) Blood Screenings!
A TSH TEST IS A SIMPLE BLOOD TEST that checks how well your
thyroid gland is working. The thyroid plays an important role in regulating energy, weight, body temperature, muscle strength, and mood.
THIS TEST CAN HELP IDENTIFY whether your thyroid is overactive
(hyperthyroidism) or underactive (hypothyroidism), and may detect
issues even before symptoms appear.
KNOWING YOUR TSH LEVELS ALLOWS you and your healthcare team to make informed decisions about your health and any next steps that may be needed.
SCREENINGS ARE AVAILABLE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., throughout the month of January.
