La Lighthouse — A Portal Within a Portal

For those who don’t know me yet, I’m Aiylah Valkyrie, co-founder of La Lighthouse, alongside my beloved, Takata RA. Together, we’ve built a a non-profit Holistic Co-op, Metaphysical Shop and community hub inside the Casa de Luz Village. It is a safe space, a place for practitioners, artisans, mystics, and seekers to gather, create, and serve.
And truly… we are so honored to be part of the Casa family. I’m genuinely so honored to be part of the Casa family — a lineage carrying nearly 40 years of intentional community. La Lighthouse is still a baby by comparison (not even a year old!), yet she arrived with a big soul mission.
La Lighthouse Holistic Co-Op is truly a Portal within a Portal — a witchy, high vibe, cozy space nested right in the heart of the Casa de Luz Village, serving as a gateway for healing, artistry, and multidimensional community connection. What we offer here is so much more than a retail shop… it’s a frequency. A living, breathing field of support for holistic practitioners, mystics, healers, and conscious creators.

How It All Began (the real story)
The entire movement started in the most unexpected way… with a compliment.
Back in January 2024, in Lockhart, I complimented a stranger at the grocery store on his macaw shirt — bright, colorful, impossible to miss in the middle of winter. a kind man with a very vibrant shirt. He added me on Facebook and after seeing my offerings online, he invited me to check out an open office space he owned near the square in Lockhart.
I followed the nudge — Spirit was already working.
That tiny moment of synchronicity sparked the first physical iteration of La Lighthouse: a studio, a Temple Sacred Heart room, a podcast space, and a private session room. For 12 months, my beloved Takata RA and I poured ourselves into building community down South. We held Red Tent Circles, Reiki Trainings, ceremonies, even a markett. Then a radion station moved in and placed a 20’ radio tower on the roof of La Lighthouse! The consistent traction just wasn’t there. On Winter Solstice one year ago, Spirit spoke loud and clear:
“It’s time to return to your people in Austin.”
As an Angelic Channel, when Spirit speaks, I listen.
I closed that chapter on Winter Solstice 2024, and briefly opened a small trailer next to a crystal shop on South Lamar. It lasted exactly six weeks. Beautiful… but not aligned for the depth of work Takata and I facilitate.
Still, it was the final puzzle piece — the catalyst that birthed what La Lighthouse was always meant to become.
I set up an interview at Casa, knowing in advance the trailer would not last. The day we spoke, immediately Edwardo went into his creative spiral and repurposed a storage room/old office into our space! We all worked together to remodel and curate the space and we opened with our first Village Market Faire!

We Opened With a Bang 🌟
Our very first Village Market Faire launched March 2025 — a full renaissance faire-style event with:
🕯 Elder Council speakers
🎻 Acoustic musicians
🛍 A bustling market
👸 Costumes encouraged
It was powerful, alive, and unforgettable.
And yes — we will host another one this spring.
We are also in the early steps toward forming a Board of Directors and a 501(c)(3) in 2026 to support the long-term vision of community care, spiritual education, and accessible healing.
